"Moron"?

As if anyone can forget your moronic, bitter anti-Kodjia posts on Villa Talk. ?

No - It's a figment of your imagination.

Jesus wept. At 8am on a Sunday morning you are on a teams forum that has f all to do with you, still pathetically trying to get your kicks by being a incredibly bad WUM. You really are very very sad.

You think just because you have a new little ground that it's any good?  Ask supporters across the land their favourite stadium.  Villa Park will be right up there whereas I doubt most will even know where Ashton Gate is.

Mines bigger than yours??

I'm certain you've been reassured in the past 'size isn't everything',, have you not?

Interesting interview with a Premier League player on wages.

https://www.football365.com/news/feature-premier-league-player-wage-cut-matt-hancock

Makes some really interesting points, whilst I agree footballers are vastly overpaid, clubs have a responsibility to run their business / clubs prudently.

I do agree they shouldn’t be picked on by MP’s to give to the NHS or other charities, it should be an individual’s choice. Why would footballers be picked out, why not TV stars, movie stars and singers. There is a lot of wealth in this country and whilst footballers are a percentage of it , they’re not the only ones earning excessive money.

The Liverpool situation is  disgusting a club with their wealth , similar to Spurs should NOT be asking for government assistance - the government should be telling these clubs to **** off unless they agree to put ALL staff (including players) on the same scheme. If you can afford to pay £100k plus a week to an individual, you can pay the non playing staff. You can bet Liverpool & Spurs will both spend £50 million at least in the next 12 months on new players - yet they can’t afford to pay their non playing staff. Tell them they’ve failed FFP and can’t play champions league football and get a 3 year transfer ban , they’ll soon pay their staff in full

I see Kyle Walker has issued an apology for having escorts at his house , for him and his mates. When will these ******* selfish ******* join the real world. I can’t wait until the Euros next year when every newspaper is calling them hereos again.

This has really made me fall out of love with our game, because of greed. Some want us to join the party and get promoted , not me

PFA saying that if 30% is taken from EPL footballers the cumulative effect is less tax paid to the Government, which isn't a good idea at this time.

As an aside Taylor gets 2m a year for his job at the PFA...

Obviously this counts as his 1 hour of excercise while on lockdown.

He's practicing anti-social distancing.

What makes me laugh is the lady in the article saying he’s a Hypocrite and putting lives at risk. What about herself she has a young child, what he did is bad and should be fined/disciplined but she is as bad as him.

Are we doing exactly the same thing furlonging staff at Ashton gate whilst the all owner by a billionaire owner who lives in a tax haven?

not sure we should be throwing any stones whilst Lansdown is going to the government to pay his staff wages

Indeed we are, so I've read anyway.

Furloughing staff, tax haven owner. That said our underlying profitability just isn't there, transfer deals aside.

On the other hand, players could do like Leeds and take a deferral. Brentford took a cut too I believe.

You say ‘when will these players join the real world’. Who are ‘these players’?  Grealish and Walker is two from many. I think it’s good to not go over the top because of a few bad eggs.

Certainly a fair point- if we all have to do our bit, they should likewise.

I think one aspect that makes football an easy target is e.g. Tottenham and Liverpool, two clubs who posted huge profits over trhe last 2 full seasons furloughing staff who are non footballing while paying highly remunerated players full whack- not a good look whatsoever!

Norwich are a self-funding model with no wealthy owners and a yo-yo club so it's more understandable. Newcastle? Not quite in the elite bracket and their profits from last season, no idea as they've taken advantage of the chance to delay their submissions due to this.

IF after players have taken a hit, especially at these higher levels the club still has a problem then the furlough is quite justified but if and only if it reaches that point. IMO.

I do agree there are a number of players who have let their profession down. To be honest my rant was aimed more at the clubs

Well done to WBA CEO...

Unless there's stuff not in the public domain, middling and lower earning staff furloughed, rugby 25% down- top brass paid as usual.

Granted, no WBA players have yet taken a cut or deferral and granted they have parachute payments but Mark Jenkins is leading from the front here.

Presumably the 20% is still being topped up by the club as it would be if WBA furlough but takes character to lead from the front- as Leeds and Brentford (and possibly Birmingham) players have shown- Man Utd in the PL.

I've been a massive critic of Man City and rightly so in terms of FFP. their owners are not a fantastic regime either but credit where it is due here!

Didn't know either that Abu Dhabi ran the ExCeL centre...no charges- again credit to them!

Arent they charging a million pound a month in rent?

Apparently not but I'd have to look at a wider range of articles.

From sunday times

The ExCeL, owned by the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (Adnec), is charging the health service £2m-£3m a month, according to industry sources.
