Almost certainly the latter. The Sion president is always doing mad things like this. The players wanted, not unreasonably, to wait for legal advice and to see what the Swiss FA and players' union had to say. But because they didn't sign by 12pm the next day they were sacked. It was initially reported that he'd sacked the entire first team squad. https://www.rte.ie/amp/1127148/ Good thread on Constantin's previous here.
