Robbored
The Annie Lennox version of “Wait in vain” is so much better than the Bob Marley original. I can’t get the link on YouTube unfortunately

Lanterne Rouge
Spooky. I was only thinking of this thread earlier when I heard the sublime St Etienne cover of Only Love Can Break Your Heart for the first time in ages.
City Rocker
Stiff Little Fingers' version of Bob Marley's 'Johnny Was' is just superb. Perhaps one of my favourite pieces of recorded music ever.

Vespa Red
In my opinion, Dana Valery's version of You Don't Know Where Your Interest Lies beats the Simon and Garfunkle original hands down. A great northern soul dancer that always leaves me breathless and sweaty on the dance floor (remember them?) But don't take my word for it folks... Sir Leigh of Somerset
The Waterboys did a pretty good version of Purple Rain here. When the violinist lets rip towards the end......
Offside
Bad Guy by The Interrupters (great band) Still Too Soon To Know by The Damnations (superb cover of a little-known Elvis Costello song) I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself by the White Stripes
PHILINFRANCE
I shall probably receive brickbats for this, but I do like the cover version of Hallelujah by Boyce Avenue, although even this version is not as good as Jeff Buckley. They are very talented. I particularly like their version of Linkin Park's Shadow of the Day. (RIP Chester Bennington, tragic loss)

downendcity
For Motown fans, how about this one? She has a stunning voice and the backing band is the Funk Brothers, with a lot of the original members.
BS2 Red
It's not a cover but adding Lenny Henry to the band is amazing!
