Ironic that British Airways were up in arms only a few weeks ago at the thoudght that one of their (failing competitors), was attempting to get government help to stave off adninistration. Now British Airways are along way from failing and why should they be any more entitled to help than Flybe?

Anyone think pubs might be rammed tonight?

Some already rammed as usual at this time.

Not sure when pubs will close but its odds on that people will get "one last one in".

Also, I suspect that there'll be some secret locks ins here and there.

An off shoot of this dreadful time for me is that I'm saving a shed load by staying in.

Boris has followed scientific advice. And the chap who advises him is the one I listen to. This is a really difficult time nobody is perfect. Anyway hope you and your family stay safe.

And everybody else’s

He’s taken advice from let’s hope people who know what they are talking about,he could offer free toilet paper for everyone and some people would moan because they bought job lots last week

If it's a pretty empty pub/bar/restaurant not that I would necessarily advocate it but wash hands, socially distance in the venue itself, don't smack hands down on surface one last drink or meal might not be the worst risk of all time.

Granted you'd need to be by yourself and make sure you significantly socially distance.

In no way would I advocate a trip to the gym though.

Well, the closest Spooners to Tim Martin’s residence here in Devon was apparently rammed this lunchtime.

Contrary to what I read in an earlier posting  I saw somewhere earlier this week that the Sponners in Plymouth had 3 staff with Virus symptoms. Maybe they’ve not succumbed ... but the risks for all are clear.

Think we need to step up regulation and enforcement rather than rely on advisory’s and individual, voluntary actions - however much that runs against the grain of the Government’s principles.

I know people don’t like Boris and conservatives and that is people’s choice. But watching the tv now I am proud I voted for Boris . This is a terrible time for all of us and we need to all pull together regardless of political views . As for the chancellor he has a huge future

To be fair, most of us who don't like him didn't expect society to reach a point where, within three months, he had no choice but to introduce the most socialist policies of any government in living memory. I'm not a fan but today him and Rishi Sunak have done what they need to do. Fair to play to them.
