Everyone out strolling along the prom should be forced to watch this.

Morons!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m not sure why we aren’t locked down, there maybe some sound reason and I wouldn’t pretend to know if that is right or wrong.

The one thing I wonder is what will the penalty be for breaking it, if lockdown is introduced.  The police won’t be able to cope, the prisons are full, the justice system will be slowing down, so what action could they take...... apart from shooting transgressors?

And an appalling healthcare system which discriminates against the most vulnerable in society.

Yep. It could get really grim over there soon, they have all the ingredients for a major shitshow that'll make ours look tame by comparison. Their healthcare system, their libertarian attitude, rampant gun ownership, an obese population, high levels of obsessive religious belief, an arrogant and stupid leader and ridiculous amounts of bureaucracy.

A recipie for civil war once the bodies pile up. does anyone really think your redneck gun and God obsessives won't be besieging hospitals tooled up if their relatives are looked over for a ventilator?

There have already been queues in gun shops.

They should have rounded up all those strolling along the promenades at seaside resorts and extradited them to Northern Italy for the duration.

How any one cannot by now get the seriousness of the situation is beyond me, and it is the rank stupidity of those that seem to be ignoring advice that will affect thousands more than necessary.

They can only believe that the seaside, a dose of sea air made popular by the Victorians, is good for them and virus free. Same with the Snowdon mountain climbers.

These people are either pretty clever having decided these would be great places to be or totally stupid by thinking thousands of others wouldn’t think the same.

I think the government have been in a damned if they do, damned if they don't situation with this,

Had they introduced a lockdown earlier then I assure many of their critics would have bemoaned that it was a draconian overreaction and smacked of some sort of dictatorial  "police state". At the same time I also suspect that when making their "advisory" statement the government credited the population with a degree of common sense that it is now quite obvious that many do not possess.

The last few weeks have shown too many as being self obsessed, selfish and lacking any degree of social awareness and empathy. When we come out the other end of this, i think/hope there will be a big readjustment in the way people generally look at what their priorities are in life. I'm certainly no socialist, but the current situation does make you look at what is really important, and it ain't toilet rolls!

I'm intrigued that after only a few week of massively reduced travel by populations generally and  almost no air travel,  the canals in Venice are running clear for the first time in decades, and the heat map of Europe is showing a noticeable improvement. Mid you, given the amount of toilet rolls purchased in the last few weeks, and the amount of excrement this would seem to indicate is anticipated, that heat map could reverse any time soon!

Perhaps what is happening is a wake up call to all of us, to change things before it might be too late. Ive a felling that once the current situation is over the world will look a lot different , in many ways, than it was previously.

All UK McDonald's premises closing from tomorrow.

Blatantly been tipped off.

Full lockdown and army on the streets by Tuesday IMO.

And we can thank all the selfish ***** for that.

Personally think Tuesday will be too soon , but certainly by the end of the week we will be on lockdown

Looking at the charts available for the U K, we are looking at the total of people infected to be around 1,500,000 of these around 40,000 will die, and the peak for this virus is estimated as the end of July before the recorded people catching this starts to decline, we need to keep or distance from each other then maybe things will ease up before the epidemic reaches these limits.

I’ve been continuing to shop at my local Turkish food stores and despite health and safety queuing outside no bare shelves. My own theory for this?

1. Eastern heritage customers stock essential foodstuffs and plan better so they don’t have to panic buy.

2. The food stores are much more practical for the customer and what they actually need. There’s entire aisles for flours, pulses, nuts, grains. In our supermarkets you get a shelf for staples and then aisles for food you don’t need e.g. sweets, crisps, fizzy drinks, alcohol.

I’m despairing seeing the British result to type and turn on their own through this. We all have reasons to leave the house and buy food, stop judging each other when the government have done **** all to stop people.

Don’t you remember? If we went into lockdown too early we’d all get fed up after a few weeks and start going out too soon...

we couldn’t manage a couple of days!

How come they weren’t covered under restaurants on Friday?

also just seen Angela Merkel has gone into quarantine / self isolation as a doctor who gave her a vaccine has tested positive

Sorry if this has been discussed in earlier posts but why is Italy the European spike of COVID-19 deaths?  Nearly 5,500 fatalities (10% of their total no of confirmed cases thus far) in global total of 13,000 fatalities....50% more than China.
