Sweeneys Penalties
I never knew…..no reason why I should. For my own ends, I am also in isolation. Shielding. I had a heart op in 1999....it went wrong and damned near killed me. I spent 10 days on a ventilator (not an oxygen mask), my lungs collapsed, my kidneys failed and when the BRI had finished with me, sent me up to Southmead to get my kidneys sorted. At 3:00 on a Sunday morning I had my first taste of dialysis.....and eventually got home 40 odd days later with someone elses blood in me and as weak a kitten. Physically I was fit go back to work after a further 8 weeks. Mentally, I was well and truly wrecked. It's nearly 21 years to the day since the original operation. I still bears the physical scars, but the mental ones only come back occasionally. How do I cope with not being allowed outside my door? If Nelson Mandela can survive 27 years on Robben Island, I can stand a few weeks of this, surrounded by all the comforts of the 21st Century. It's all about attitude. Stay strong Andy.
