Unan
FIFA proposed the change from three substitutions to five as a move to protect player welfare in the coronavirus era as football slowly returns to normal. So the teams with the biggest squads, aka the most money, now have even more of an advantage.
wayne allisons tongues
You have 3/4 of a season with VAR and the dodgy lines for offside and teams dropped points due to it. Now last 1/4 of season no VAR and teams may get points from tight calls. How is that fair and where’s the integrity for the league.

I imagine its because on a normal match day you'd have more than 30 people in a not so large room working as the VAR officials and support staff, probably wouldn't be seen as an okay working environment

The clubs would have to vote for it not to be used otherwise think of the lawsuits that could follow if a team goes down/misses out on Europe due to a goal being disallowed following a `dodgy` VAR decision earlier in the season where a similar goal is allowed against them with no VAR. Would it be fair if a team missed out on Europe or got relegated when the decision would of been reversed earlier in the season,

I agree think of the problems it could cause if not used.

It’s ridiculous and quite clearly all about Sky getting their fill. Because it isn’t for the good of football, the players and supporters.
Slacker
It appears that over the past few years football has changed from the worlds greatest game to the world's most important financial commodity.BBC Sport website yesterday talking about huge impending transfer bids for premier league players, seems very crass at the moment.Hope any club involved in any of these deals is looking after their non playing staff. However, if the clubs voted for it to not be used, that would head off any potential legal problems as they knew the consequences. If it`s enforced though and the clubs don`t get a say the lawyers will be rubbing their hands together. Mind you, if the load of bollocks that is VAR had never been brought in in the first place......……………......

It is just getting ridiculous now, 5 subs, no VAR, neutral grounds, no crowds, 40000 tests all because the PL want to keep there money. Football is suppose to be a game played at all levels same rules and standards but now lower leagues being ignored and voided so that the big boys can keep there money. If the goalposts were moved back a yard then all those 'was it over the line" debates would disappear overnight. Sorted...
Crackers Corner
I for one hate VAR and wont be sorry if its dropped, the Championship before the lockdown had much better flowing matches, yes the officials make mistakes, they are human and it happens. the only thing that annoyed me about not having VAR in the championship prior to the outbreak was sky commentators picking apart every marginal decision saying that it wouldn't have happened with VAR. we managed 100+ years without VAR
