Hi folks. So, it's just gone 3pm on Saturday - a time that I imagine reasonates quite strongly with all of us. In the absence of a match, I have a new edition of my quiz which I hope finds you all well.

The answers here are English footy grounds from the top 5 tiers (mainly present, but some past as well), with a tiny handful of other English sports venues. The initials are provided.

Please note, there are so many names comprising ‘stadium’, ‘park’, ‘lane’ and so forth (e.g. London Stadium) I have included some of these words in the clues, but not for all as I thought it might get a tad boring and repetitive ie. A lot of the clues might simply point to the first word of the name of the ground.

I hope you all enjoy playing again!! Stay safe.

Also, as you are sending your answers in, I will try to reply asap, but will be combining this with finishing the housework, so might take me a few mins!! ?

Tom, Thank you so much for all the effort you put in to do this.

I've only just spotted it, printed it so I do not see any answers, do a Telegraph cryptic every day (badly) and will spend spare moments going through this. As I haven't kept up to date with all the new stadium names, I think I may struggle but good fun.

Hey Cidered, no problem - I really enjoyed putting it together!

Ah nice one, well done, I hope you can enjoy it! I did a City players, past and present last week, I think it's probably somewhere on page 2 of football chat if you wanted to print that one too. Oh, and I don't do the cryptic crosswords, so please don't judge too harshly if they don't match the standard of the telegraph!!

Why aren't you doing this professionally?

Aw Polly, thanks, I will take that as a huge compliment! Though honestly, that City players one last week was the first ever one I have done. This is the second! The idea had never even been in my head before!

Here's an idea Tom. A cryptic quiz on 100 English footballers who all have the initials BB.

Oh wow...that is quite the difference in destination!! There's a story you'll always remember! I'd love to know at what point you realised the mistake (I can imagine trying to identify the players warming up, thinking we've got a lot of new signings today....)

Walking to the stadium from the station the accent of the away fans didn't seem right somehow!

I also thought it a bit weird that there were so many Northampton or Burnley or something fans living in Chesterfield.

When I got into the away end of the stadium and saw all the non-City kits there, I realised something was wrong...

Still, it helped me get a correct answer on a quiz 20+ years later, so  not all in vain!

Everything is for a purpose, though it might not be obvious at the time.

Seeing Keith Welch in goal was another step in my realisation. I was thinking like "doesn't he play for another team now?"

Yes, quite.

That must have been so weird...for a moment must have felt like a weird dream!
