Norwich fa cup about 1991 i reckon.

Not a trip you would relish with the cats.

Around this time, maybe somebody else will remember, somebody started running coaches from the robins pub.

I dont recall who it was but they advertised in alan roberts window, evening post etc, i think the first pick up was the whitchurch roundabout i maybe wrong.

First time i blackballed the cats and did i get karma.

Stuck on the m25, for hours, got in with 30 minutes left, and i think that fat git fleck scored in the last minute.

I remember getting home and watching motd, and tim sherwood, had missed a open net from about 4 yards out.

My mate, went to watch city palace in the 90s, started following a bloke with a follow the eagles sign, in the back off his car,

And the bloke pulled up on a driveway, in dartford, wheres the ground my mate said, oh im not going tonight he said!

Stockport, can’t remember the year early 00s I think. We won 4-0 or 4-1 again can’t remember haha. Pre match Was great in a little pub by ground having a few mixing and chatting with the home fans. After the game we were stuck in traffic outside the ground. And who walks past Mr Tinnion. So we start having a little sing song. 5/6 Stockport fans coming flying out of pub and smash our windows in!!! Strange day

Torquay United, March 19th 2005. Arrived and walked along the Prom and saw the whole City squad out for a pre-match stroll. Blissfull time at the harbour quaffing pint after pint, then semi-reluctantly climbed up to PlainMoor to find the pitch swathed in sea mist. Went to the halfway line and couldn't see either goal! However they use a specialist ref with X-Ray vision. We won 4 nil, Lita got three and I didn't see any of them for the mist. Brilliant, brilliant day.

Oldham away 2005-06, stopped at Morrison’s in Walsall for breakfast, got back on the M6 and it crawled all the way up to Manchester. Got into Oldham after the game had started, put the radio on to find we were 1-0 down, which very quickly turned to 2-0!  As soon as I got in we had a goal disallowed! We eventually lost 4-3, but I headed home at 4-2 as I’d just had enough.

FA Cup 1961 away to Leicester City.

On the first of two special trains, got to Leicester at 2.20. Arrived at Filbert Street and inside the ground saw a pitch covered in rainwater. Ref started the match which was a farce as even water polo would have been impossible.

The second train arrived at 3.20 and most of those fans got into the ground minutes before half time, which us when the ref abandoned game at 0-0.

Replayed following Tuesday evening when we lost 5-0 to a side that ended up losing finalists.

M first ever away, 1967 at Spurs FA cup round 5.  Seven special trains!

Being 15 y o, the ground looked awesome 54k in there with ,must have been 10k City.

Lost 2-0  (missed a twice taken pen at 1-0 ) but it will stay with me forever . After the game my bro took me to the West End for a slap up Indian.............brilliant day !

To be fair I thought Junior Bent was better just couldn't pass the ball into the box otherwise you may have scored 5 or 6 that night. I thought Tinnion was class but I always rated him.

That was a weird day, ended up in a pub/club full of Celtic supporters.

Quite enjoyed Millwall away at the back end of last season. Mainly as first away game I took my mate too - he very much enjoyed himself too!

Tuesday night, got very drunk indeed IIRC. Sure there was chanting on the train etc. Sure some in the last pub pre the train too.

We nearly got our marching orders at halftime, think the stewards didn't much care for his drinking alcohol in view of the pitch!I :whistle2:

I of course didn't notice him drinking alcohol, or maybe 'didn't notice'. Not sure he even tried to hide it much?

Fact Millwall doesn't have allocated away seats means that shifting up the back and standing is good- definitely chanting on train back, from Millwall to London. May even have some footage.

Game itself wasn't bad either! Goal down and not playing so well, knowing was a must win to keep playoff hopes alive for one more game.

Was it O'Leary who saved a pen? We turned it round, and Paterson was excellent. Diedhiou's goal was excellent- enjoyed it an think it was our first win at Millwall in quite some while.

Ha ! We had a great day, until we lost. Got back to the van and I think quick nap and we'll be well on the way when I wake up. Half an hour later I wake up still in the ******* car park because someone is looking for their ******* baseball cap !!

Was a long trip back after that.

Didn't we have a thing about missing penalties against that lot? If I remember correctly, Chris Crowe in F A Cup about 68/9 and Chris Garland League cup semi final 1970.

Chris Crowe was one of the missers in 67 (Tony Ford being the other)

CG didn't miss a pen in either semi .

I thought we had the chance to win the second leg, late in normal time but missed a pen, might have been a sitter though. Lost in extra time to the winners which we've done on three occasions, lost I mean.

Gerry Sharpe JUST failed to connect with a diving header from a driven cross in the last couple of mins .

Thanks, I knew there was something we just missed out on again. Such fine lines between success and failure.

Preston away in February 82 was certainly memorable. As part of the London Branch contingent myself and my sadly departed mate Brian Monument travelled from London by train. After lunch in a hotel near the Guild Hall, including a couple of pints, we walked towards Deepdale via a road (Moor Lane?) which boasted 5 pubs all of differing breweries. After a pint in each of the first 4, we settled down for 3 pints of Boddingtons in the last pub. We then watched the game accompanied by a few pints which they were selling from a booth on the away terrace. After a fine 3-1 win we took refuge in the Supporters Club for a few frames of snooker and pool doubles with the locals, and a few more pints, before getting a taxi to the station in time to get a carry out before getting the train. Back in London another taxi took us to the MacBeth on Hoxton Street for a few more beers into the early hours before crashing at Brian's flat. Wrecked yes! Memorable certainly!

Our minibus got trashed that night, 160 miles home with no windows and it was bloody freezing! One of their lads went down for 5 years for it.

It was even more memorable for me as we nearly didnt make it. I was living in Taunton and had to hire a car so an early start was needed.

Just as I was about to leave I heard on radio Bristol it had been postponed because of the weather. I rang my mate disappointed who said he had heard the same but then just as I rang they said it was back on again.

We then wondered if it was wise to go, we made the right decision, cracking game and atmosphere and back in time to see it on match of the day

Crikey! If I'd drank that much I don't think I'd have a any memory of the day.

I do remember a trip to Preston the year we had to win to win the title. That involved drinking from the M32 onwards at about 8am.

Must be something about going to Preston brings out the thirst in you.
