Covid positive.

Recommended Posts

After last Thursday’s league-wide testing for COVID-19 completed by Bristol City players and staff at the club’s training facility, we can confirm that one member of the testing group tested positive for coronavirus.

The individual, who we are not naming due to medical confidentiality, is asymptomatic and is now self-isolating in line with league and government guidance.

There has been a subsequent scheduled round of testing for the rest of the group with all results negative.

The club will be making no further comment at this time.

Does that affect us being able to play on Saturday?

Nope. Just that individual won't be able to play as they'll be isolating.

Forgive me if this has been mentioned in other threads.

Should the majority of the first team squad contract it, will we have to put out the academy kids or have the league authorities given any clearance for cancellations due to positive numbers?

They've all been tested, they've been isolating as much as possible, not much else they can do.

How do you know if its confidential?

I think logic that Wells and Weimann were the only two not seen on Saturday v Saints.  Wells has been seen today, Weimann hasn’t featured in any video since last week.

So in theory if the test was Thursday last week, isolates this week, gets tested Thursday this week if its negative if we get the test back before Saturday he could play?

Just seen its 7 and 10 days and both negative, first test would either need to be today or tomorrow with a very quick turnaround with a test saturday morning for the second test.

Correct

The Norwich player that tested positive last Friday came back Negative after yesterdays test

Yes, but he would have missed an entire weeks training & with 5 games in 11 days from Sunday week it would appear to be an unnecessary gamble with so many others available.
