Everyone else has been tested since and come back negative.

The timing of testing seems to be important - the UK’s chief medical officer said that you could test negative for up to seven days after you were infected with the virus and in that time you’d be able to spread it to other people ...

Yep, and that’s why they are testing twice a week to mitigate that as much as possible....and avoid the need for whole squads to self-isolate should one player test positive / show symptoms.

For a normal member of the public you could catch it, unbeknown to you and pass it round willy-nilly. At least with City they can take that person out of the equation, but I suspect the club will be worried about the next set of tests.  Could conceivably lose more players if the person passed it on in that period of time between contracting and starting isolating.

LJ will probably be sweating until they get the results of this weeks tests, probably done on Monday/Tuesday..

Probably not the most appropriate word to describe LJ’s current condition, in the last line of your post, at this time !

CHAMPIONSHIP

The EFL can confirm that 2213 players and Club staff from the 24 Championship Clubs were tested over the course of the past week with eight individuals testing positive from six Clubs.

Those players or Club staff who have tested positive will now self-isolate in line with the guidelines provided by the EFL and only those who have tested negative will be permitted to enter training ground facilities.

If the City were really concerned about the spread of the virus, surely they wouldn’t have played the practise game yesterday?

Exactly - apart from personal concern for the person involved there is no reason for anyone to be concerned

Everyone else has since been tested and confirmed as negative

The Norwich player who tested as positive on Friday night was negative on his next test on Monday

To catch the virus it is estimated that you need to be within a close proximaty for a period of 15 minutes

It has already been proven that a footballer will not be that close to any player for that length of time during a game - not alone at training

Absolutely. Odds are that loads of these 'positive' tests are inaccurate anyway.

Seems quite a high number of positives when the ONS estimate, last I saw, was 1 in 1700 in the community currently has the virus. Wouldn't be surprised if that's why.
