Yea disappointed to see him loaned out again, especially as he seemed to be playing well and getting a decent run of games. Clearly has ability, but the key for him is going to be consistency. Can we rely on him over a 46 game season, I'm not sure we can at the moment. Hope he comes good though, he seems like a great lad.

I agree. He always comes across very well and I’d like to see him make it with us. I thought he came back from that loan at Southend Championship-ready and in a great place to fill Webster’s boots. I was miffed when we signed Benkovic and Moore made way. He should’ve been developed here this season. How else is he supposed to learn his trade at this level?!

Taylor is a bright & honest lad that learns quickly & can communicate well. Recalls and understands events that really mattered in his career for this interview.

Definately could be a great mascot/advisor for mental health at Bristol City as he is articulate and youthful enough to be relevant.

Next. Just hope he can make it to captain the side and help us into the Prem! 8o)

He will replace Williams next season. Heard it here first. No source. Gut feeling. He was ready to step up before we signed Williams. We don’t need Williams wages on the books in these times also and have experience in baker and kalas

With TK, NB and allegedly some bloke from Coventry possibly ahead of him, I wouldn't blame the lad if he left TBH. If LJ brings yet another CH in both Moore and Vyner may as well look elsewhere methinks.

By the looks of the Southampton match it looks like Vyner is being tried in midfield

So I read Westie, interesting that. 3-5-2 next season maybe? 3-1-4-2?

He’s certainly got the attributes. I have a feeling Korey won’t be staying beyond this season and Johnson will try to replace him with Zak.

He has the attributes to do the role but a risk to throw him in at Championship level without DM experience.

You are saying that little Lee is about to pull a 'Bobby Reid' out of the hat & push Vyner up from 'useful full-back' into 'Midfield enforcer'?

If Vyner doesn’t crunch someone in the first minute tomorrow it’s Johnson out for me

What attributes do you think Zak has to play DM?

Loaning Taylor out this season was the right decision.  He's had another season of first team football.

Though he was 99% ready to step up, he would not have got anywhere near as much game time and experience here.

We will not re sign Ashley Williams next season and Taylor will be ready to step in the minute that Nathan Baker breaks (about 20 mins into each game on average).

Apart from the fact that Taylor is now a very proficient centre-half, his ability to bring the ball out of defence will be a great boost to us next year, whether in a back 4 or back 5.  I believe he is our future and we need to look after him.

So considering he can't play tomorrow (I think but am happyto be corrected) its Johnson out then?

I don't think that Mat, Liam, Taylor, Zak, Bailey or Ty or anyone else that was out on loan, can play tomorrow.

And LJ says he does not want to disrupt his settled squad anyway.

Agree. Rather have him in the squad rather than Benkovic.

Which is what it boiled down to

He returned from Aberdeen in the January window but has been troubled by a shoulder injury picked up in Scotland. He’s available if needed.

He’s calm on the ball, good yet sensible with his passing. A clever player.

I used to watch him regularly in the Academy.

Do you think he can do that well enough to be in a top 10 Champ side?  That’s cool if you do.

For me, until I’ve seen him with the ball, receiving it, manoeuvring it, etc under pressure I’m gonna reserve judgement.  Webster, for all his ability on the ball, struggled once West Brom sussed our system out.  Pack Massively underrated in this area.

Its really tough to go from CB to DM.  At CB everything is in front of you.  In DM you need to be able to play 360.

It’s hard to say without seeing the full transition. He’s a determined individual, willing to learn so it will be interesting to see. Definitely potential IMO.

Pack hugely underrated, I agree. It’s a very specialist position, for sure.

More than happy to see him integrate into next season’s squad, versatile undoubtedly now.

Interesting interview and a good insight into the ups and downs for a young footballer. Saw the comment above re Vyner playing defensive midfielder. Never considered that he might play there. I have wondered if Moore could play in that position though.
