K Smith Presser - Using YouTube Premiere

A few things from a very wide ranging press conference:

  • No contract offer from the club to Korey so far.
  • At Blackburn the squad used two dressing rooms, one for the starting XI and one for the subs. Smith and the starting XI had no contact with the substitutes (until they were subbed obviously).
  • Admits that Blackburn was a poor performance and not up to scratch.
  • At AG they should all be able to use the much larger home dressing room and have the whole 20-man match day squad in together.
  • He condemns the banner flown at the Man C v Burnley game.
  • Talked generally about the uncertainty around contracts and injuries, and his experiences of racism both inside and outside football.

Good press conference, worth a watch.

Interesting to hear about all the guidelines with regards to social distancing, even in the tunnel and dressing rooms. Can the virus not be spread on a football pitch? Not allowed to enter the pitch at the same time but you are allowed to be all over each other during the game...

Lately we have been calling it physical distancing - really what it's all about

Think a lot of is about the amount of time people are in close contact. I guess being outside and spending little time in contact mitigates the chance of spread

There is necessary risk and unnecessary risk.  No point in having the latter just because you have to have the former

Love the guy, given us some great memories and great performances but I can't believe that after about 300 signings, he is still our "go to" Centre Midfielder when we supposedly have ambitions of Promotion.
