At the moment there is a hell of a lot of hindsight & sadly people wanting us to lose so they can bang their “LJ out” drum, but we were the better side first half against a top six side & on the balance of the game, deserved a point. Not what many want to hear at present though, is it? One good half in 9 games it was overdue but the end result was defeat

But we did not create enough, and the players weren't "outstanding" nor "very very good".....we were average....we were ok.......unfortunately at this level you play like that there is always the danger you will get beat. What the header over the bar ? Is that what constitutes a good chance now ? The so called box entries. Its not creating chances , just lumping the ball into the box

Business end of the season and regardless of performance from the players and management we have 2 from 21 points. It's not good enough with 6 games to play and we are clutching at straws to grasp positives from another loss.

Under LJ we’ve hardly ever had good performances, but we’ve had a lot of good results (or lucky as some would say). Ironic that it appears they weren’t the normal way round for LJ tonight. Shuffle
Look there seems to be a groundswell about everything being shocking and whilst our form has been shocking & yet again we’ve blown a good chance to secure play offs, let’s remain balanced. Tonight was a good performance and thought we looked a team again rather than an 11 thrown together about 10 mins before Ko. Overall, its a results business and we’ve been awful and yes LJ needs to go but at least remain balanced rather than go with the mob mentality of everything is shit as tonight wasn’t! But we never troubled their keeper so it could hardly have been outstanding. Agree with this. We played better with the ball, but still created very little. A few corners early on, a couple of chances from crosses, but all very easy to defend. I think we were sussed. Teams know that away from home we tend to get results with 35% possession and counter attack. Forest were happy for us to have the ball - they had absolutely zero press - let us keep it and they know we can’t create. So yes, better with the ball, solid enough defensively, but zero cutting edge. That’s the sacrifice you make for solidifying midfield, 4 across the middle, all ‘runners’ and ‘tryers’ but not an ounce of creativity. Palmer made more incisive forward passes in 5 minutes than the other 4 in the rest of the game.

Nibor
It was a decent first half away performance because we played with a balanced well understood shape not fresh out of the lunatic tombola. At half time I expected to see a change to make us a bit more solid in anticipation of Forest going at us hard, that didn't materialise. We gave away a free kick we shouldn't have in a dangerous area and got punished. An individual act of idiocy ruined our chances of getting anything from the game. That's put the final nail in the coffin for the playoffs. LJ didn't get himself any credit for that, he just stopped it eroding even further by not making amateur level errors. There were some positives from players, and it wasn't dire, but there's a long way to go from that to playoff contenders still.

Agree and in his cameo for the last however many minutes Pato did more attacking and put in more dangerous crosses (1) than COD and Wieman managed for all their time on the pitch, we got a lot of crosses in but none of them were particularly good. If it were the other way round I would have been dissapointed to come away from that conceding any goals.
New Dazzler
The old adage is that a successful team are able to win/grind out a good result, even when they play poorly or not to their best level of performance. The one thing we have been able to do under LJ's managerial time (which must surely be over very soon) is an ability, when on a good LJ streak, to grind out a good result, especially away from home in the last 2 seasons. And that is fine, results are everything. But when you lose that ability ie we took the lead against Blackburn against the run of play then capitulated, and in the last 2 games we have started brightly, not had the ruthlessness to take advantage, let in a goal and never looked like getting anything out of the game. LJ has had many extreme winning and losing streaks. Although we never know why they are so extreme, every team has a poor patch in a season. But for a promotion chasing team a poor run is, say, having a run of 5 games when you only win 1, draw 2 and lose 2. Since we beat Derby, we have gained 2 points from 8 games. Over a season a point per game would normally get you relegated. And we NEVER have a good run when going to in the business end of the season with a play off place at stake. This club, but particular this manager has the softes of soft underbellies. Basically, if you lose playing badly, lose when playing a bit better, and these bad streaks happen 2 or 3 times a season, it is time to get rid of the bloke in charge. Alex_BCFC
Played fine today - nothing outstanding as LJ makes out though. As I’ve said before - tonight isn’t the reason he should go. It’s the backwards steps over this season and especially this 9 game winless streak.
