Although we've not seen a hell of alot from Benkovic it's nice to see a defender comfortable on the ball. We won't have a chance of signing him.

Of course not. But if we get Hughton in, I would offer Leicester to extend his loan and promise game time.

Especially as we may have to sell Baker due to his contract being out in 12 months.

Sorry but how can anyone analyse such thing? I have seen LJ many times say post match what injury Baker had for him to come off.

I'll try and find the thread and see myself. But to me he has always been happy to come off.

LJ even more or less said about him coming off too much in one post match interview, without actually naming him.

Subbed injured 4 times this season, 2 were concussion, so hardly his fault.

Maybe 2 is a lot? Arguably to be expected for someone who puts his body on the line. I just don’t understand the constant calling him out for it, I’m sure the lad doesn’t  WANT to be injured. Was obvious as soon as he went down that someone would bring this up as if he’d just chosen to get headbutted (albeit accidental)

That was an okay performance. We looked very comfortable and potentially heading for a 3 or 4-0 win until, as ever, we made it hard for ourselves. Was less comfortable after their goal but overall think we were good value for the 3 points.

A new era has begun with 3 points. I'm happy.

In fairness, we wouldn't be saying this if Nakhi and Fammy both buried those 1v1s in the second half.

Can’t score every chance which is why a team needs to create quite a lot of chances normally to beat a team.  Hull are awful so need to be doing more in final third I would say

Was impressed with the Benko and Kalas partnership, they worked well together.

Vyner looked out of his depth though.

Well if Baker fails an in depth concussion test then I think we can call Moore into the squad as Williams is still suspended

A win at last! 🥴

It won't change much, but three poins are always welcomed.

Some satisfaction that we put Hull into the drop zone

We did our part tonight: let's hope that their next opponents will do the same. 😈

Not a great performance but the most important thing was the win, even if it was only Hull. Hopefully there will be an improvement in confidence. Fam & Pato had good games and the wing backs did their job. 3-5-2 (3-3-2-2) definitely looks a better fit for our players.

But don't we have to look at all his time here. I do think he has generally looked more up for it this season compared to last season.

There was a thread in September last year that said he came off injured 8 times before half time and 7 during half time. That is a crazy amount of times.

And he is so often okay the next match. It is often different parts of his body too.

LJ has said he doesn't know why he comes off so often. I will try and find the interview and post it on here.

Sorry if mentioned elsewhere, but a few telling comments from Taylor (who was great).

He suggested that some players were pleased for a fresh start.

He said that we had quality like Palmer and Pato and said something to the effect that they were underused.

Also mentioned how the chopping and changing was difficult and used Watkins as an example "one week he'd be in the squad and the next he'd be dropped."

And credit to the lad for saying that we hate Cardiff and Swansea!

Ooh just remembered he also said you could see the boys were busting a gut for Holden and Macca. Perhaps implying they weren't previously.

Just release Williams from his contract, that way even with the suspension Moore gets in the team for the remainder.

Get a new manager in.

Play Vyner next game, Moore for the two after, compare the games; as well as in training, and decide who to keep and who to loan out. In my opinion Moore is more capable defensively and what need psychologically at the moment.

Depends Robin.

We could lose Baker; so its a 20k+ defender out and in. Also depends if we stick 3atb or go 4.

Yes agree we need cover especially as Bakes is made of glass been good for us this year though but 30.000 cant see him worth that each week.

No, he wasn’t. Look up the thread. It was a handful of times over his duration of being here that we’re actually down to injury. Don’t think it’s anywhere near as much as the perception people have

I've looked up the Baker sick note thread and there's nothing on there that shows it wasn't because of injury.

Unless you mean a different thread?

I could listen to Taylor Moore all day. What a fantastic young man he is. Desperate for him to get his chance next season.

I keep saying this season is over (it is) but I can’t stop logging inl and commenting. I feel like I’ve been cuckolded bit still begging her to come back (not Johnson, the club) I love my club so please bring a decent manager in.

We're not going up, we're not going down. Let's get a new competent manager in, have him run the rule over what we've got, what we might have to our advantage in another season in the Championship, knuckle down and get on with it. We now have the possibility of a bright future>

We won and scored two lovely. Last time we won was in feb. Pato and Famara were great, COD on the bench and Pato is mutch more creative. We created some chances and was playing ok. Think Nagy will replace Smith next season, Vyner is a big ? for me. Really hope Palmer will play well next season. Dont know what happens to Niclas, we need him is my opinion. The win was important for the so they get some confidence also nice for Holden to get a win in his first game as manager in City.

Vyner looked out of his depth though.

Kalas defended like a defender tonight.  Bar one ball he let bounce over his head, he did exactly what I expect of him.

Benkovic reminds me a lot of Daniel Agger (not the same level), he’s quite casual on the ball in a good way, but he sticks his head in, always a good sign.  Plus good in each box aerially.  I thought his awareness of a Wells runs tonight were a good sign too.

Vyner looked like a player who has had a year away from this level, and after an encouraging 45 v Forest, has struggled to get back up to speed.  I’m fine with that, it’s kinda expected.  Benik you can tell he hasn’t sync’d his brain and his feet yet, nor is it easy coming off the bench.

Pato revelled in his role, Weimann looked lost.  Pato technically our best player, and we did get him in pockets.  Thought he tired last 20 as he started playing sloppy passes.  The ineffectiveness of Weimann tonight put pressure on Smith, who also looks like games in quick succession have caught up with him.  He might need a rest....might not get it.

Wells looking better tonight.  Not quite there yet but his movement was good.

Bloody Diedhiou, fantastic touch and finish, good in our own box, some other nice moments, but some frustrating ones too.  Tonight is one to focus on the good stuff.

Bentley flapped tonight, let his defence get on top of him for the goal, then made one very good save.  I want him to be more solid.

Hunt ok, Dasilva looks like he isn’t quite sharp yet.

Thats about it. 🙂

No one else seems to have noticed; tonight's result means City are now mathematically safe from relegation! 13 pts clear of 21st placed Hull with only twelve available.

Thanks Bert, but it wasn't Ian Butler I was thinking of: nor was it Ken Wagstaff or Chris Chilton.

Ok Bert we can't work out who it was.

But Sheff Utd coming down the gate with Wagstaff,Chilton and Tony Currie in the late 60s,early 70s were a bit of a side.
