City oz
Always remember him with the Jam and Style Council in my younger years. Great musician and was very under rated. Just looked him up again and he has 7 kids. Gees he must have plenty of led in his pencil.
City Rocker
Legend indeed. I first saw Weller perform just shy of 40 years ago with The Jam at the Locarno, the day after John Lennon was killed. I was right at the front, it was crushed and I was only 15, and my best Fred Perry shirt was dripping in sweat. At the end of the encores he leant down and handed me his half-empty can of Heinekin which I gratefully swigged back. I still have the empty tin. Can't prove it once belonged to Paul Weller mind, but I know. Besides, who would be sad enough to keep a 40 year-old lager can?!
Reddrive
I was at that gig at the Locarno, right near the front. Must have been quite close to you. Like you say, really packed. Great gig, great artist. And let's not forget the contributions of Rick and Bruce.
