Abysmal.

What a desperately disappointing season it’s been. Genuinely amazed after a few games some were calling for Holden to be considered ?

True, but what did we expect? Saw City at home to Preston in early 2000's nothing to play for, exactly the same uninspired performance..

The players are obviouly already on a plane to Vagas or Dubai...

What an utter waste 4 years of Johnson has been. The team is no better than when he came. And all those signings as well.

Well that's just bollocks isn't it? We were nailed on for relegation when he came, we are a solid top half side now. I wanted him gona some time ago but you are just chatting shit.

Be interesting where we'd be in the league if the season started Jan 1st, apparently Wigan would be 3rd

..........looking forward to a Bristol derby next season!  :shocking:

For all the hot air around our club, that's 4 out of 5 seasons since we both got promoted that Preston have finished above us. A club that can barely muster 10k on occasions and no redeeming unique recruitment strategy that we can use as an excuse like Brentford.

The new guy better be up for the challenge.

Better setup than us, better midfield. Think their midfield has a nice blend, no doubt.

And every time they look far superior to us

We may be sneaking top half again, but it’s absolute dross to watch, consistently inconsistent should be LJ’s catchphrase.

Yes but there is now way you can say that that is not better than being relegated as we were well on they way to being.

So boring... What has this team become?

The product of LJ's tinkering, chopping and changing and increasingly lack of any cohesive plan regarding personnel, formations and playing style. Ive said it before, but while Lee's Dad was able to produce a team capable of more than the sum of it's parts, the son managed exactly the opposite.

It's sad really, as around the time of the league cup semi final there were genuine signs that LJ could take the club further forward. Unfortunately he never really hit those heights again. We've got some very good players that have been made to look ordinary because of the way they've been coached and managed and the way the team has been set up badly all too often in recent times.

Granted not a great deal....but that first half sums up our season.

The back room staff needs a complete overhaul as well. Good riddance to this season.

I'm sorry but I can't agree with that. It may have gone sour for LJ this season, and it was right that he was sacked, but we were heading for relegation with Cotts before LJ came in and kept us up, and we improved our league position for the next 3 seasons. The football may not always have been pretty but you must have a selective memory if you can't remember any good performances. Other than the fact I want us to win every match this game really doesn't mean anything. We now need to get the right man in to take us to the next level.

I’m not convinced, being a big fish in a small pond, is more exciting than being a a floundering fish in a big pond......

That’s not to say I don’t understand the financial importance, the ‘prestige’ and the potential to get to the Prem, when a Championship club, it just hasn’t been a very entertaining, exciting or promising journey.

Not necessarily. League table and this game say Preston have a better structure and plan, exactly as @Red Exilesaid.

If it was simply about having the eleven most talented individuals then no team would even need a manager. But it isn't. And structured, organised teams often do better than capable but disjointed individuals.

Agree with that.
