Agree... V shady dealings here.  They're not as public as some of the larger gambling companies... why? they're an online company formed 3 years ago of very few employees based offshore in that tax Dodge of Malta... Any laundry? Don't sit right with me...

That where the majority of online betting companies base themselves

Exactly. Tried to look at their accounts in comparison to Yeo Valley and found nothing. Don’t think any gambling company should sponsor sport let alone one as murky as this seems to be.

Stopped me buying our shirt to be honest, having DUNDER written across it just sounds so stupid

Know what you mean. I'm glad the betting connection means the words can't appear on children's  shirts, so I could buy my kids shirts which didn't make them look like plonkers.

Curious as to why this impassioned post has arisen today....is there something in the press about them or something?  They've been our sponsors for the past two seasons, so what's with the timing?

I'm not sure they have to post accounts as they're an overseas company with no base of operations in this country.  It's an awful name that sounds like a primary school playground insult, but I'm not seeing anything morally different between these and Bet 365/32 Red/888 Bet etc.

And as for what impact that had on Steven Gerrards decision I'm at a loss...Rocket science or not....Rangers are sponsored by a betting company so obviously not an issue there, so to have a specific problem with a small foreign online casino that few people have heard of would be just a little beyond strange!

End of the season seemed a good time for a clean break. It’s my personal view but I don’t think football clubs should be sponsored by betting companies. Gambling shouldn’t be actively promoted like that given the damage it can do.

And then I saw that the women’s team are sponsored by Yeo Valley. Got me wondering.

Is a gambling company a more toxic brand than Yeo Valley though?

A lot of people are easily influenced and I fear that Yeo Valley could lead people down a rocky road where redemption might be difficult to find.

I'm sure we've all read books, seen films or heard stories...

Never dabble in the Yakult.

(I apologise).

For what it's worth, I don't think Dunder will ever be a successful business or attract new customers based on our shirt, but I can't wait for the sponsor to change as it does look and sound pathetic.

Before they were sponsors, I thought dunder was a by-product of fermentation, not sure how an online casino ended up with that name.

You can understand Bet365, 32Red - the names pretty much describe the business, but Dundee remains a mystery!

I thought they had another 2 years left with Dunder

Interestingly I just had a look at all the press releases at the time and oddly none of them actually mention the length of time the deal was for.

It does say they liked our style against Manchester Utd and Manchester City, so I bet they are gutted now, they jumped on our high public profile from those matches and in not doing their due diligence I'd bet they didn't really know what they were getting into

In relation to gambling companies on the front of shirts Spain are closing in on new legislation that would heavily restrict gambling advertising in Spain and, if passed into law, it could lead to betting sponsors disappearing from La Liga clubs’ shirts as early as next season.

A similar act could be passed in England with MP Carolyn Harris, chair of the gambling-related-harm all-party parliamentary group, is confident a new Gambling Act will outlaw shirt sponsorships in the English leagues when it is passed in Autumn or in the New Year.

Nine of 20 Premier League clubs currently have a betting company as their front-of-shirt sponsor, with the number rising to 17 of 24 in the Championship.

Ideally I'd like a Bristol company, or at least a Bristol based company or major local employer as the shirt sponsor but can we get the return we're looking for. There are lots of great tech companies in Bristol but probably not big enough. Airbus, Cameron's Balloons or Aardman would be good.

Steve could do a Man City and put Hargreaves Lansdown on the shirt

The proliferation of gambling companies is pretty unpleasant, and I was disappointed to see us follow suit.

What about say Ovo Energy, based down our way, or we could get DAS to sign up again (and again)

Always amazed me that Honda didn't sponsor Swindle, given that they make cars there. And the kind of money it would take to sponsor that shower would be loose change...

How long are we locked in with these parasites? Embarrassing to have them associated with the club. Why can’t we be sponsored by Yeo Valley too?

Is that the Yeo Valley that treat their herds with homeopathy? They’re mad as badgers.

Homeopathy ‘may’ work as a placebo in gullible humans but I doubt the cows get that.

Don’t like the betting company either.

What cracks me up, is the fact people are saying that Dunder is an awful firm to be sponsored by, but then are happy to chant  about alcohol and want to be sponsored by an alcohol business.

I'm pretty sure alcohol kills and effects millions and millions more lives then gambling does.

Just think about that for a second. The irony is real.

yeah but it doesn’t look shite

Bradenton Resort is just a wrongly spelt Brislington isn’t it?
