I hope, and pray, that our owners have seen the value of hiring the best possible coach that they can, via their rugby club.

A coach so well respected that players can be persuaded to join us simply because of the reputation of that person.

Holden may be talented, he may enable us to play better, but i can't believe that he could attract high calibre players.

So for that reason i believe that the club are keeping so quiet because they are tying up a stellar appointment,

who will put 5000 extra season ticket sales on the books.

The messiah is coming!!! always believe

I hope so, too. But there's are subtle differences with the rugby club's board:

  • Jon Lansdown sits only as a director, not a chairman
  • Bears chairman Chris Booy was involved with Bristol Rugby long before the Lansdowns
  • Bears CEO Mark Tainton is Bristol's all-time leading points scorer
  • The other board member looks after the finances
  • Steve Lansdown has far less interference

What that says to me is that most of the people on the Bears' board hold genuine ambition, know the club inside out and can connect with the fans. We have the polar opposite.

Conducting the interview process in private as all clubs do. Do we expect a daily update? Of course not.

Journos are living off scraps of intel and blowing it up. People spreading rumour on the internet and others believing it to be the truth.

All will be revealed soon

Exactly. In this case Deepthroat, the keeper of secrets is more like Shallowthroat, the s**tspreader.

The last verse of The Dean and I , by 10cc...

Hey, you know I'm really earning now

My ship came in with a cargo of dollars

My name's lit up on the prow

It's a wonderful world

When you're rolling in dollars

Rolling in dollars

Rolling in dollars

Now!

It’s beginning to look like one of three scenarios to me.  Either:

1)  As you say, we’re waiting on someone,

2). We’re getting knocked back by applicants  left, right and centre, hence all these various names being thrown up by GMG.

3)  The club are just making a total pigs ear of the whole process.

I’m sure there will be plenty of fans with other suggestions,.

And have good knowledge and experience on Rugby both players and coaches. Which Lansdown seems to think he has on football but consistently demonstrates he lacks by his repeatedly poor selections as City manager.

So Gregor is probably right when he says no decision is imminent.

This won’t be helping our so called reputation for being a well run club, who people will be falling over each other to manage then!

In the US civil war a A General, seeing his men ducking from the fire of a confederate sniper, said “ they couldn't hit an elephant from that distance”.
