Not at hand.  Am I the only one who remembers BCFC referring to fans as customers and the club having to be run as a business?

I hate to say I think this is one of those urban legends that over time was assumed, but never actually said

No one will be a season ticket holder in reality as no one can go to the games.

By having a full refund you won’t lose out as no one will be buying season tickets for ages.

But not everyone will have a refund are you saying you should have the same privilidges as them?

Ive been a season ticket holder for over 45 years and I am paying for next seasons via Standing order however i will cancel this if Covid stops us going to the games, i don't fancy paying over £500 to watch BCTV  If i cannot attend the games which is not my fault nor the clubs granted i do expect my season ticket benefits to apply the next time we are allowed back into the ground

You can’t just cancel your direct debits. You entered a contract to buy something and the club will chase you for payment. Best to wait for the club to offer a refund which they are legally bound to by the same contract.

What are you talking about? You’ve paid for a product that the club literally can not provide you with. Of course you should have a refund whilst maintaining your option on that seat.

It’s getting on for six months since I paid in full for 2020/21 season and it’s not looking likely we will be able to attend games during that time. Why shouldn’t I get my money back when the club can’t provide me with what I’ve paid for?

I never said you shouldn't get your money back, in fact 100% you should! But that's it

What privileges? No one will be able to go or do anything next season by the look of it. They will likely offer full refund, partial refund with tv coverage or move money to 21/22 season. None of that will affect anything in terms of getting a season ticket for 21/22. Those that have a full refund or whatever should be first in line to have their seat back in 21/22 due to the circumstances.

That'll probably be next July, when they've worked out how many games you've missed

(And make you feel guilty for asking)

If you read the T&C's you forgo your season card after the payment is missed and cancelled after 2 months, they can refuse you purchasing a future season card using this payment method in the future.

I know people who have done it previously due to a change of circumstances and the club has never chased them for any payment.

Whilst talk of refunds is a bit premature, it would be prudent for the club to announce their strategy if some/all games will be behind closed doors, but also, if they are fan-free events, if kick off times won't be moved forward to rush hours stopping a number of people from being able to watch them.

The tone of the communication will likely play a part in any decision I make.

That bit, the timing of kickoffs will be centrally decided I'd have thought, maybe based on majority club decisions- who knows.

I asked the SLO though whether it was club led or EFL led and he answered but still nothing definitive- nothing with respect to the existing season, but moving forward he said:

Quote

Morning

The kick off times at the end of the season were based on logistics I believe, I'm sure announcements will be made about the start of season 2020/21 in due course in terms of Robins TV, fan attendance and kick off times once the fixtures are released (I've not hard when that's happening yet).  Sky coverage and the usual things will all come into play.

Tells me that it's out of the clubs (and every clubs) hands somewhat- could be linked to central planning of ifollow, club TV channels etc etc- therefore not really a valud criticism to throw at the club if they are once again variable!

  • 10% discount in concourses, Coffee Shop and Sports Bar
  • Away and cup ticketing priority
  • Discount on CATS travel for away matches
  • Members ticket prices for Bristol Bears & Bristol Flyers home league matches

All the season ticket holders in my family  are quite happy watching on CIty TV (which I personally think is pretty good)

But it's not worth the £500 each we paid out.

I also though dont want to lose my seat for 21/22 season

So plenty to think about when the club decide what there doing ..

Put like that, they are going to need a lot of Love in their begging letter.

I would like a full refund, but have a seat in a box for the same price the following season. I obviously want free food and drink every week and be provided with a free high class escort girl once a month. Not too much to ask is it?

The escort girl would turn you down!

And presumably you expect her to address you by your user name as well (or is that similarly wishful thinking)?

The club will have a ton of merchandise that will need shifting, people will still be buying from the club shop etc

Without turning this into a Covid discussion, people will be back in stadiums next season, its a case of when not if

People will always buy stuff from the club shop (though I would expect this to drop if people aren't going to games and the economic downturn) - has little relevance to the season ticket apart from a small discount.

Well they might be - I thought we would all be back to normal by now as we were told the whole thing was to flatten the curve at the start. Goalposts are moving all the time and if people are back in then it won't be for quite a while (no chance before flu season starts again) and even then on a reduced capacity. Of course it is a case of when but the when looks a long time away currently.
