What is Cisse's role?

He’s a coach / translator / middle-man on deals with foreign players.  Looks like he’s been retained.  Thought he might go with his links with LJ and Macca.

Bloody lovely bloke too, as is Rene Gilmartin.

Otherwise known as experienced back up goalkeeper (a la Man City, Man United, Liverpool etc) as well as goalkeeping coach.

Highly doubt he's on 3k a week either

This.

Always find it difficult to understand why some don’t get what the deal is with Gilmartin. He was brought in for two reasons

- Cover as the “third” GK. In the first part of last season we had both Max and JoJo on loan - we couldn’t have done that had we not had backup to Bents and Niki

- GK coach for women. For which I’d bet there’s some kind of wage allocation to help FFP.

Strong likelihood is he’s never playing competitively for us, but we need him (or similar) for reason one above

Was there not an advert for the Woman’s goalkeeping coach yesterday? Thought it strange given it was one of his responsibilities.

Knowing how difficult it is for my partner and her daughter to ‘catch it’ and ‘throw it’, may be 12 months of goalkeeping coaching is the limit in the women’s game before burn out.

So we have 2 goalkeeping coaches as there is also Pat Mountain: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pat_Mountain

Seems a bit excessive if you ask me

If the women's team can run to a goalkeeping coach, at this moment in time, then money cannot be as tight as some like to mention. Can it?

He's been doing that for over a year now, so it's not like it's a new position!

He's the backup, to the backup, which meant that we could loan both Jojo and Max out last season, and still have a registered "third choice" goalkeeper. In the meantime he's doing more coaching than anything else, which also involves the women's team.

He came from Colchester, he won't be on anywhere near the money that some have suggested recently.
