People just making up obscure or unused abbreviations for the sake of it.

AFAIK, OTOH etc - they’re just not widely used enough for everyday forum discourse.

IWTJTS!

I think it’s already been referenced above but why does every young person start every single bloody sentence with the word ‘so’ ??!!!

“What are you up to at the moment?”  - “So, I’m studying geography at Southampton Uni ...” AAAARRGGHH!

Others that wind me right up:

”Two up top...” (Andy Gray and Richard Keys are responsible for this tripe)

”Doubling down”

”...or doesn’t that fit your agenda?”

”Superfan alert”

”That defeat will have pleased lots on here”

“You were saying Fammy haters?” (every time the geezer scored)

”Wee Lee / Little Lee”

“Woy” (Hodgson)

etc etc etc

"I call bullshit"

"My bad"

"he's a very naughty boy"

When someone stands up for something related to Landsdown someone else always posts "cheers Steve" or words to that effect. So annoying.

Calling fans "lads" as in "loads of Southampton lads protecting the war memorial"

I could go on but I won't. What's the most annoying stock phrase that gets wheeled out time and time for you?

I get the thread ,and there’s plenty of annoying phrases mostly owned by mark ******* Ashton . If you have problem though with a group of blokes being called lads then you have a issue ?

Not really forum related but I bloody hate all the press cliches around transfers:

"club x, y and z are circling"

"club x is sniffing around"

"issuing a come and get me plea"

"handing his manager a selection headache"

As for the forum I'd be glad to never hear the words Avon Gorge Hotel again.

Unlikely.

All the sightings and intrigue are taking place over the road at the Portcullis since Alan Curbishley became the new landlord.

It’s really cringey when people get in a heated argument on here and call each other ‘petal’

Yep, 'petal', 'flower', 'blossom'.

Very strange.

Does anyone really call each other like that away from internet forums? ?

I know, I can’t stand it - It also shows that the poster using one of those terms is genuinely riled and angry. It’s just a football forum ?

Not very keen on Americanisms that take over for no good reason. “Headed towards” instead of “heading towards”.  And “oftentimes”...grrr

'Upcoming', um, no the word you're looking for is forthcoming.

'The off season', um, no that's in America, it's the close season here.

'Way too much/long', no, the word is far.

'Bullcrap' , no, the word you seek is that which you speak.

 'Bollocks.'
