Season Cards

Maybe some of the tech buffs on here will know if the smart cards can be made smart enough to include game rationing and accommodating bubble groups such as families within a social distancing policy?  It might well be necessary to change this during the season if the rules change - so would our current technology cope?

Morning I just wondered has anyone heard when the new season cards are being sent out or has anyone got there’s yet?

Many thanks

It's often mentioned that same cards would be used unless you moved seats, with it so uncertain still when we could return I can't imagine issuing new cards at a cost that isn't needed

Unbelievable! Why would you want it sent out already? You ain't gonna be able to use it this year!

Sorry but I don't think that's the point.  People relish the anxiety and anticipation of the wait.   It's a good chance for feeling hard done by, whilst having a moan on otib. Then the possible excitement of Scott Murray, with photographer behind, coming to the rescue and appearing on your doorstep at the final hour.

I've only just had my 2014/2015 Season Ticket delivered by Andy Llewellyn

Has anyone actually had any monthly DD’s taken yet?
I usually pay annually but opted for monthly as I wasn’t sure what was gonna happen at the time.

I’d read that the payments were delayed until July, but I can’t see that I’ve had anything collected yet, for July nor August. Have I missed a comms saying they were delayed further?

@Harry I know from personal experience that there have been problems with the DD scheme

The first month that they were due to come out, the money was taken but then repaid straight back to me, @JerrySLO was very helpful in sorting the problem and I paid the first payment manually and the second payment has since been taken as per DD scheme

I know from others that they also had problems with money not being taken etc, so definately worth checking asap, you should have had two payments taken by now

I thought this year the fixtures were being linked to the card people had from last season, so they'd only need to send new ones to new season card holders rather than to everyone who renewed.

The club has said something very similar for a number of seasons now but they still oddly kept reissuing to the majority

I've had two payments taken. 1st July and 1st August.

Have they actually said they're issuing new cards, rather than loading the transactions to the existing ones?

The more important question for me will be "what are my options?" I know there has been a lot of debate and speculation on OTIB about this, but to be honest can't be arsed to wade through it all, bearing in mind that, rather like the recent flood managerial appointment guff, probably nobody knows the answer yet, anyway, so I will do a Robbored and await official announcement on the OS.

I assume, though, that there will be many like me, male, over 70 and therefore, to a degree, vulnerable, and unlikely to attend matches in the foreseeable future even if the stadium is open to fans.

I think they looked at ( with distancing ) 25-30% capacity, for us that's around 6k.

First problem, who gets them?
2nd, how do you get in and out of a row and distance from the guy you have to pass.
3rd, another lockdown could come ( over 50's or local both rumoured), then all bets are off.

I think the plans will have to be sorted well before SC's are sent out. Pressure being put on the Gov to let non league teams have fans in before October, that may give some idea if it can work.

this is still the rule;

It remains the case that you should not:

socialise indoors in groups of more than two households (anyone in your support bubble counts as one household) – this includes when dining out or going to the pub

socialise outdoors in a group of more than six people from different households; gatherings larger than six should only take place if everyone is from exclusively from two households or support bubbles

Will take a big change to get proper crowds back.

Don’t they always say that yet send out new cards as we’ve changed sponsor or something. But people are right, I can’t see them being needed until at least the New Year or beyond so are the least of the club’s concerns right now.

I think it would be sensible for the club to contact SC holders to determine how many would want refunds. There are many fans who do not wish to go to matches as things are, and are vulnerable because of their age or health conditions. Once the club know the numbers they would be in a better position to manage the reduced seating arrangements proposed for Oct, or whenever reduced numbers of fans can return to watch the games.

I think it the club should also give those relinquishing their SCs first refusal to repurchase them when it is safe for everyone to return. If they don't repurchase within a given short time frame then of course they must accept losing their seat.

I agree entirely. I think this would be fair and the right thing for the club to do in the circumstances, but based on past performance you would not bet your shirt on it.
