Desso
Anyone know if insurance against long term injury to players is taken out by clubs. If so, it would certainly soften the blow of getting expensive loanees in.

JoeAman08
I am pretty sure it is quite common in american sports. I’d expect some of the top clubs around Europe have something in place to cover long term injuries but is a guess from me.

Lanterne Rouge
I wonder if there`s any Covid related stuff taken out now. Get a bad dose of it and it could easily finish a player`s career with the after-effects
TBW
Used to get it on my players sometimes on Premier Manager '98.

Chances are probably very slim for a professional athlete, but some players do have underlying heart conditions etc

Was it David Clarkson too that got something that pretty much screwed his whole career?

Wasn’t the same again, though is showing signs of that player since he came back from the Derby loan.

Pezo
Met an insurance salesman about 15 years ago who said most of our players were privately under some form of cover for loss of wages, apparently most contracts had severely reduced pay if a player was out with a long term injury.
