Could we get some more new player updates as regards to Bell, Pearson, Towler etc please? Towler was the main one - defender or midfielder?

Ah, yes!

Towler went down as a midfielder at the start of the season, so we’ll stick with that. He has subsequently been changed to defender on the City site, but I’m a stickler for pointless in-game consistency so will go with my original post. (Unless people would prefer him as defender? He hasn’t been picked by anyone yet, so guess there’s flexibility!)

So those three:

Pearson - Midfielder

Towler - Midfielder

Bell - Forward

Full list recap:

Defenders

Baker, Dasilva, Hunt, Kalas, Mariappa, Mawson, Moore, Pring, Rowe, Sessegnon, Vyner

Midfielders

Adelakun, Bakinson, Opi Edwards, Owura Edwards, Lansbury, Massengo, Morton, Nagy, O'Dowda, Palmer, Paterson, Smith, Towler, Walsh, Williams

Forwards

Bell, Diédhiou, Janneh, Martin, Semenyo, Weimann, Wells

Included Zac Smith in there as he’s on the website but no idea how close he’d be to a match... and I think Janneh is back with us? Injured I think, like Pring, but still - welcome to pick ‘em if you wish haha!

Grumpy avoidance if we lose.

Hurrumph.

Will update today though, before kick off!

@citywest30 beating me to it again haha - and afraid you’ll have to switch Lansbury this time, apologies!

PEU v Reading (deadline 6.45)

@Rocking Red Cyril - cannot select Kalas

@citywest30 - cannot select Lansbury

@DownendRed97 - cannot select Palmer

@Oubliette23, @RedYoshi - cannot select Paterson

@Chessels Chick - cannot select Diédhiou

@bissellredhead - cannot select Moore or Diédhiou

@wayne allisons tongues - cannot select Massengo or Diédhiou

@Redstart - cannot select Paterson or Diédhiou

@jrt55555 - cannot select Vyner, Paterson or Diédhiou

Unshackled: @CheddarReds, @Dogbert, @kelbcfc, @LeeJohnsonsFlatCap, @Newquay-Red, @prankerd

And don’t worry folks, wherever you are in the table, however you’ve been doing over the last few matches, your jobs as fantasy managers are safe.

Just have more time on my hands in a half term week. ?

Hmm. Watch Lansbury get a goal or two after getting me nothing. I'll go for Nagy then with Palmer as my sub and Nagy can be my vice capt too please.

All Updates and No Wins Makes RedYoshi...

Another four to fly through - but none worth reliving this time, sadly... Let's get on with it.

Gameweek 26 (Derby A) - Not Sure I Can Remember A Thing

Seriously, did this match happen? Very forgetful...

Nathandao: 3pts auto-pick (Vyner - Paterson - Martin)

@bissellredhead7pts (Kalas - Bakinson - Semenyo)
@CheddarReds7pts auto-pick (Hunt - Bakinson - Wells)
@Dogbert7pts (Rowe - Palmer - Wells)

@Newquay-Red8pts (Kalas - Nagy - Semenyo)
@RedYoshi8pts (Hunt - Palmer - Semenyo)

@jrt55555: 9pts (Kalas - Palmer - Diédhiou)
@Oubliette239pts (Mariappa - Palmer - Diédhiou)
@Rocking Red Cyril: 9pts (Kalas - Nagy - Diédhiou)

@citywest3010pts (Kalas - Nagy - Diédhiou)
@kelbcfc10pts (Kalas - Nagy - Diédhiou)
@LeeJohnsonsFlatCap10pts (Kalas - Palmer - Diédhiou)
@prankerd10pts auto-pick (Kalas - Nagy - Diédhiou)
@wayne allisons tongues10pts (Kalas - Palmer - Diédhiou)

@DownendRed9712pts (Mawson - Palmer - Diédhiou)

@Chessels Chick13pts (Mawson - Palmer - Diédhiou)
@Redstart13pts (Mawson - Nagy - Diédhiou)

Unlucky for some, but 13pts keeps our top two pretty happy. Mawson the difference maker, earning 3 bonus points, while Diédhiou's single bonus helped all of those above 8pts. Meanwhile, @Dogbert was slightly scuppered by Rowe's early withdrawal, but it wasn't quite early enough for @Oubliette23 and Mariappa to benefit from an unlikely clean sheet. That's all she wrote, really.

GW26.thumb.jpeg.591902803579bb7d381dd4713ac7a47c.jpeg

No real changes in position, other than @wayne allisons tongues catching me up, as @kelbcfc pulls away from @Newquay-Red and makes 10th their own.

But of course, there was a Manager of the Month title riding on this match, which went to...

...@Redstart, with a total of 78pts!!:dancing6:

Congratulations! Two points clear of @wayne allisons tongues, with @Chessels Chick (our first quadruple centurion) & @jrt55555 another point behind that. A close run thing, but a well deserved January Jampion.

Ugh, sorry, that's almost as bad as some of our recent performances...

GW26 Dream Team: Mawson (5) - Nagy/Palmer (2) - Diédhiou (3)

Points Breakdown

  1. Mawson 5 (3bp)
  2. Diédhiou 3 (1bp)
  3. Hunt 2
  4. Kalas 2
  5. Nagy 2
  6. Palmer 2
  7. Semenyo 2

  10. Ow Edwards 1
  11. Mariappa 1
  12. Martin 1
  13. Massengo 1
  14. Rowe 1
  15. Vyner 1 (yc)

Gameweek 27 (Brentford A) - Hope! Then Less...

Started so well, and contained genuine flashes of excitement, before ultimately being a disappointment. A Bristol City season in microcosm. Still, we have fun, eh?

@Dogbert5pts (Mawson - Palmer - Diédhiou)

@CheddarReds6pts (Mawson - Palmer - Semenyo)
@jrt555556pts auto-pick (Kalas - Nagy - Semenyo)
@LeeJohnsonsFlatCap6pts (Mawson - Palmer - Diédhiou)
@Rocking Red Cyril6pts (Mawson - Palmer - Diédhiou)

@Chessels Chick7pts (Mawson - Nagy - Semenyo)
@citywest307pts (Kalas - Nagy - Diédhiou)
@DownendRed977pts auto-pick (Mawson - Nagy - Diédhiou)
@Newquay-Red7pts auto-pick (Kalas - Nagy - Semenyo)
@wayne allisons tongues7pts (Kalas - Nagy - Semenyo)

@RedYoshi12pts (Hunt - Nagy - Diédhiou)

Nathandao: 14pts auto-pick (Vyner - Paterson - Semenyo)
@prankerd14pts (Mawson - Palmer - Wells)
@Redstart14pts (Mawson - Palmer - Wells)

@bissellredhead15pts (Vyner - Paterson - Semenyo)

@kelbcfc19pts (Hunt - Palmer - Wells)

@Oubliette2324pts (Vyner - Nagy - Wells)

The Hunt-Vyner-Wells triumvirate giving a route to double figures, with only @Oubliette23 and @kelbcfc combining two of the three to streak away at the top. @bissellredhead relatively close behind in third thanks to goalscorer Vyner, who only found his way into another team via Nathan's perennial auto-pick, while Wells' late show turned @prankerd & @Redstart's fortunes around, as well as giving a gloss to the score that perhaps we didn't deserve.

GW27.thumb.jpeg.1602649199ce3e2d0b894e8de7653016.jpeg

A change at the top! Fresh from the Manager of the Month accolade, @Redstart launches themselves to the summit - passing the 400 mark in the process - while @Oubliette23's success bumps them up to third as well.

Also bumping themselves up are @kelbcfc, @prankerd and @bissellredhead, as those double figures prove rather valuable indeed.

GW27 Dream Team: Vyner (10) - Bakinson (4) - Wells (6)

Points Breakdown

  1. Vyner 10 (g, 3bp - 3gc)
  2. Hunt 6 (a, 2bp - 3gc)
  3. Wells 6 (g, 1bp)
  4. Bakinson 4 (a)
  5. Diédhiou 2
  6. Ow Edwards 2
  7. Massengo 2
  8. Nagy 2
  9. Semenyo 2
  10. Kalas 1 (3gc)
  11. Mariappa 1 (3gc)
  12. Mawson 1 (3gc)
  13. Palmer 1
  14. Paterson 1

Gameweek 28 (Cardiff H) - Destructive Derby

Last season it got rid of our last manager, and it wasn't much better this time around. Even the long-awaited appearance of our saviour Joe Williams wasn't enough. Suffice to say, there weren't many points on offer...

@Dogbert4pts (Hunt - Paterson - Semenyo)
Nathandao: 4pts auto-pick (Dasilva - Paterson - Semenyo)

@bissellredhead5pts auto-pick (Moore - Palmer - Diédhiou)
@jrt555555pts (Vyner - Paterson - Diédhiou)
@kelbcfc5pts (Vyner - Paterson - Wells)
@LeeJohnsonsFlatCap5pts auto-pick (Mawson - Bakinson - Wells)
@RedYoshi5pts (Mariappa - Paterson - Semenyo)

@citywest30: 6pts (Vyner - Lansbury - Wells)
@Oubliette236pts (Vyner - Paterson - Diédhiou)
@Redstart6pts (Vyner - Paterson - Diédhiou)

@Chessels Chick7pts (Vyner - Massengo - Diédhiou)
@DownendRed977pts auto-pick (Kalas - Palmer - Wells)
@Newquay-Red7pts auto-pick (Mawson - Massengo - Wells)

@CheddarReds8pts auto-pick (Mawson - Palmer - Semenyo)
@prankerd8pts auto-pick (Mawson - Palmer - Wells)

@wayne allisons tongues: 9pts (Mawson - Massengo - Diédhiou)

@Rocking Red Cyril10pts (Kalas - Massengo - Wells)

With Kalas and Mawson the only two to earn more than two points, it was a shrewd captaincy choice by @Rocking Red Cyril to be the only one to earn double digits. Vyner's goal against Brentford had seduced many of us, and then he goes and starts on the bench, to the frustration of Zak-captainers (Zaktainers?) @jrt55555 and @kelbcfc.

No-one did anything. Williams went off before 60mins. Another day passes.

GW28.thumb.jpeg.11d7e7d3e12af66e4a7b30114d89f673.jpeg

Very little change at the top, but the gameweek's second top scorer @wayne allisons tongues does overtake @jrt55555 & @kelbcfc's Zaktains into 7th. @Rocking Red Cyril also nudges back in front of @bissellredhead, as @prankerd is the only other player to gain a spot, benefitting from @Dogbert's unfortunate run of form.

@Oubliette23 is the third to join the 400 club, and a friend of mine won some money because Kieffer Moore scored, so at least there's that.

Surely it's not gonna get much worse...

GW28 Dream Team: Kalas/Mawson (3) - Massengo (2) - Diédhiou/Semenyo/Wells (2) ... not much of a dream...

Points Breakdown

  1. Kalas 3 (2bp - 2gc)
  2. Mawson 3 (3bp - yc, 2gc)
  3. Diédhiou 2
  4. Massengo 2 (1bp)
  5. Semenyo 2
  6. Wells 2
  7. Lansbury 1 (yc)
  8. Moore 1
  9. Palmer 1
  10. Paterson 1
  11. Vyner 1
  12. Williams 1
  13. Hunt 0 (yc, 2gc)
  14. Mariappa 0 (2gc)

Gameweek 29 (Watford A) - Oh, The Horror

The last message I'd sent to my Brentford supporting friend after we played them was: "conceding fewer than 5 is a bonus in my book".

Yeah.

Nathandao: -1pt auto-pick (Vyner - O'Dowda - Martin)

@Rocking Red Cyril2pts (Kalas - Nagy - Diédhiou)

@jrt555553pts auto-pick (Vyner - Paterson - Diédhiou)

@CheddarReds4pts (Hunt - Lansbury - Wells)
@DownendRed974pts (Vyner- Palmer - Semenyo)
@Oubliette234pts (Mariappa - Paterson - Wells)

@kelbcfc5pts (Hunt - Lansbury - Semenyo)

@bissellredhead6pts (Moore - Lansbury - Diédhiou)
@Chessels Chick6pts (Hunt - Paterson - Diédhiou)
@Dogbert6pts (Vyner - Lansbury - Diédhiou)
@prankerd6pts (Kalas - Paterson - Diédhiou)
@Redstart6pts (Kalas - Paterson - Diédhiou)
@RedYoshi6pts (Hunt - Paterson - Diédhiou)

@LeeJohnsonsFlatCap: 7pts (Vyner - Massengo - Diédhiou)
@wayne allisons tongues7pts auto-pick (Hunt - Massengo - Diédhiou)

@citywest308pts (Mariappa - Lansbury - Diédhiou)

@Newquay-Red10pts (Vyner - Bakinson - Diédhiou)

Somehow, we still end up someone in double figures, courtesy of the tightest of tight entries. @Newquay-Red got their selection in bang on the deadline, with a captain who started on the bench and then went on to earn all 3 bonus points. Marvellous stuff. A much needed, against-the-odds success story from Saturday.

Unsurprising to see the captained defenders at the lower end of the scores, although it could've been worse for @bissellredhead had Moore been "awarded" the two potential own goals (he wasn't, and quite rightly I hasten to add).

Not one to write home about... I've already written too much.

GW29.thumb.jpeg.b0306af240cb3d22e49b6bb0be6e4752.jpeg

Again, unsurprisingly, not much movement of which to speak. @kelbcfc & @jrt55555 do a sneaky do-si-do, as @bissellredhead catches up with @Rocking Red Cyril, and @wayne allisons tongues once again reins me in.

@Newquay-Red's relative success does see them come within 4pts of the top 10, the closest since the start of this post.

Here's hoping there won't be a repeat tonight...

GW29 "Dream" Team: Mariappa (0) - Bakinson (4) - Diédhiou (3) - more like a nightmare...

Points Breakdown

  1. Bakinson 4 (3bp)
  2. Diédhiou 3 (2bp - yc)
  3. Lansbury 2
  4. Massengo 2
  5. Paterson 2
  6. Semenyo 2
  7. Nagy 1
  8. Palmer 1 (1bp - yc)
  9. Towler 1
  10. Wells 1
  11. Mariappa 0 (2gc)
  12. Hunt -1 (6gc)
  13. Kalas -1 (6gc)
  14. Moore -2 (4gc, yc)
  15. Vyner -1 (6gc)

Well, 0 points for City, but a surprisingly decent amount of points between all of us. So chins up folks, there's still joy to be had! Somewhere...

Good luck tonight. Gulp.

Gameweek 30 Update (Reading H) - Dean & Out

Oh dear. Another one bites the dust, eh? Yet here we all are, continuing to fantasise like the true City fans we are. That gives me more hope than any potential saviour. Plus, you're all still safe from the fantasy chop. Yay!

@jrt555553pts auto-pick (Mawson - Palmer - Wells)

@CheddarReds4pts (Hunt - Lansbury - Semenyo)

@bissellredhead5pts (Hunt - Massengo - Semenyo)
@DownendRed975pts (Vyner - Lansbury - Semenyo)
@Redstart5pts (Kalas - Lansbury - Wells)
@Rocking Red Cyril: 5pts (Hunt - Lansbury - Wells)

@Newquay-Red6pts auto-pick (Vyner - Bakinson - Diédhiou)

@Chessels Chick7pts (Vyner - Nagy - Semenyo)
@citywest307pts (Kalas - Nagy - Wells)
@kelbcfc7pts (Vyner - Paterson - Wells)
Nathandao: 7pts auto-pick (Vyner - Paterson - Semenyo)
@wayne allisons tongues7pts (Kalas - Paterson - Wells)

@Dogbert9pts (Hunt - Paterson - Diédhiou)
@prankerd9pts (Hunt - Paterson - Diédhiou)

@LeeJohnsonsFlatCap11pts (Hunt - Palmer - Diédhiou)
@Oubliette2311pts (Vyner - Bakinson - Diédhiou)
@RedYoshi11pts Overload (Diédhiou - Semenyo - Wells)

Fam the triple-bonus-man. I got lucky with the Overload, despite poor captaincy, while the rest of the top 5 all had a 0-pointer in their team and yet Diédhiou saved them. He even helped @Newquay-Red's auto-pick to a mid-table finish, despite Bak'n the Zero Cap'n.

With nobody opting for our best defender Moore, the rest were essentially separated by who got a yellow card or not. At least we won 4-3 on bookings, hey?

GW30.thumb.jpg.a5380e80da52e22f555d3a29d2aa55b3.jpg

Again, unsurprisingly, very little to report, but @LeeJohnsonsFlatCap is the latest to pass 400, as @Oubliette23 & @Chessels Chick also tighten up the gap to @Redstart.

@DownendRed97 has kindly given me temporary possession of 5th place for at least one match, while @citywest30 also manages to sneak ahead of @jrt55555.

Otherwise, whatever changes may be occurring within the walls of Ashton Gate, it's status quo for us.

GW30 Dream Team: Moore (2) - Nagy/Paterson (2) - Diédhiou (5)

Points Breakdown

  1. Diédhiou 5 (3bp)
  2. Moore 2 (2bp - 2gc, yc)
  3. Nagy 2
  4. Paterson 2

CUP ANNOUNCEMENT

I was planning on an Easter Cup and a Run-In Cup, but with recent developments I thought "LET'S GO CUPPING MENTAL" - we could all do with the extra entertainment, right?

So, I'm sneaking in an extra cup starting this weekend. Welcome to the Official Post-Holden Cup!

All cups will follow the same structure as the Christmas Cup (Round of 16, QFs, SFs, Finals), and points prizes remain. Should add some real chaos to the end of the season.

This is how the remaining fixtures work out:

Post-Holden Cup
v Barnsley (H) R16
v Middlesbrough (A) QFs
v Swansea (A) SFs
v Bournemouth (H) Finals

v QPR (H)
v Birmingham (A)

Easter Cup
v Blackburn (A) R16
v Rotherham (H) QFs
v Stoke (H) SFs
v Coventry (A) Finals

v Forest (H)
v Sheff Wed (A)

Run-In Cup
v Wycombe (A) R16
v Luton (H) QFs
v Millwall (A) SFs
v Brentford (H) Finals

Cup central. Too much? Never.

Will do the draw for the Post-Holden Cup in the morning. Am I more excited about that than the match itself? Maybe.
