What’s with this ‘mob’ business?

I haven’t seen any group demonstrations, pitch forks, burning torches and effigies of Ashton or Lansdown at BS3?

The reality is, as @Phileas Fogg has said valiantly, hitting the brick wall over and over (bravo by the way, good effort, however futile), the frustration of the vast majority was nuanced and passed after a week.

Of course there is a minority who judge too harshly too soon - the bedsheets outside the ground for example.

But that ‘extreme’ minority is a little bit like the extreme minority who would judge a manager a success after 2 league games.

No one would do that, right?? 4 games, right???

Far too early for ‘I told you so’s’ - but it never fails to amaze me the sad desperation some have to say “I told you so”.

Keep your powder dry, it’s been 4 games.

So I get this right.  Are you saying its ok to destroy a decision before a balls been kicked, but its too soon to get excited after 4 games have been played?

I'm so confused.

So I get this right. Are you saying it’s OK for people to say give the decision time and then declare it a success and say I told you so after 4 games have been played?

Just not down for an argument mate.  You win though if it makes you feel better.

Anyway, I'm really not bothered either way.  xxx

Nor am I down for an argument. I was just replying to your quote to me.

If you running out of things to say is me looking for an argument, then if that helps you feel better....xxx

You really are beyond parody Bat!

I'd honestly put you up there as one of the rudest and most insulting posters on this forum. On the politics forum a few years ago there was a time when every single one of your posts would contain insult after insult against people whom you disagreed with. Most recently after Holden's appointment there was a thread where you were constantly insulting people that criticised decision-making at the club and accusing them of being "insecure" and "failures in life" etc.

You've demonstrated over many years on this forum that you are completely incapable of "Disagreement couched in reasonable, calm and respectful language" - good grief, you are the antithesis of this in fact!

I await the inevitable insults and put-downs...🧐

Maybe you find it hard to see the difference between lively political disagreement between people on social media and the wholesale verbal assassination of members of the board and employees of our football club. The latter cannot respond, so the attacks are pretty cowardly.  I stopped regular posting on the politics forum because it is largely a left wing echo chamber and became pretty boring.  You may find, if you choose to look, that I tried to give as good as I got - that being the nature of that particular forum.  I guarantee that you will never find any posts from me that are rude or disrespectful about Bristol City.  You may find some which argue against those who do specialise in vitriolic criticism on the club.  I'm sure that if you give this a little thought you will agree.

Now can I please get back to leaving this thread, which has become tedious. If you look at the people who seem offended, you will see that they are the usual suspects who have given up watching City but still come on here to vent their spleen and criticise.  As Martin Luther reportedly said, "Here I stand, I can do no other, God help me!"

I don't think we should overexaggerate, we've played a newly promoted Coventry, newly promoted Northampton with the majority of their best players sold off to championship teams and an underperforming Stoke, the latter of which where the entire dressing room is rotten with players on inflated premier league wages still for the most part.

At the time it seemed like a very poor appointment. Give it 10-12 games and then judge. I am more than willing to eat humble pie if we are still playing well then. I am happy Tyreeq and Taylor Moore are playing in the first team though. Think those two and Walsh and Morrell can be very good players

In fairness, you could also point out that he is currently missing 11 front line pros.  Three of his players are coming back from long term injuries and are not up to speed yet and he has 4 virtually untried kids in the squad.  That is a total of 18 players of a squad of thirty four - and three of those are goalkeepers.  It hardly seems fair to condemn Dean in the current circumstances - especially when the active players are probably knackered with playing so much and may well be carrying various knocks and not playing their best football.  I doubt if many managers could weave the current lot of players available into a promotion winning team.  If he gets players back, as Tins said in on Saturday, they will need to be nursed back to match fitness and not rushed for fear of causing further injuries.  It seems clear that this season has become a bit of a write off and it would be a great achievement if we could end up in mid table and then get all the squad really fit for next season.  With our best players available, I feel we are a match for most teams in this league.

I suggest that the head coach and team need full support right now and not the regulation baying for blood that seems to be a feature of this forum whenever difficult times come along.

I'm definitely not one of the trigger happy posters.  I wanted Lee to stay until shortly before it all went horribly wrong.  But both performances and results have been so absolutely dire recently, and there's absolutely no sign that Dean or any of his staff have the slightest idea how to turn things around, that they simply have to go.  As soon as possible, so we can start building a platform for next season.

Yes, injuries haven't helped.  But apart from LWB it was quite a strong and experienced team he put out yesterday.  We are going backwards very quickly and we need to stop the rot.

Dean is hardly in a position to have many team choices. He is bereft of left sided players and teams have obviously targeted that weakness.  So many of our players are very young and inexperienced and will always struggle against teams like Brentford and Watford, who are able to field close to their strongest sides.  Ifeel it is incredibly unfair to judge Dean in the current circumstances,  I hope the injury crisis does not get worse because I could not imagine any manager achieving much in current circumstances.

I supported Lee and was sad to see him go because I thought he had more to achieve here,  Every time we change managers, it causes disruption and expense and we cannot afford either of these luxuries at present.

At no point has DH looked like he could get us playing the attractive attacking football he promised. Injurues accepted, tired played agreed but he sends out teams devoid of any shape, cohesion, tactics or playing to players strengths.

Will go down as one of our worst managers ever, and only hope SL sees sense before he take a us down.

He send out teams that are lopsided because there are no left footed players and gaps are filled with very young and inexperienced players, who are not sufficiently protected by the tired and overwhelmed senior players.  We have another potential crisis at centre half - do we take ZV from midfield and leave a weakness there?  Dean is just having to grind through the games at present. Hopefully we will meet two or three teams that are similarly stricken so that we get the points needed to survive.  Returning players will have very little time to get up to speed - very difficult after months on the side lines.

If only it was about the last games, but we have been shocking for the last 2 months. Constant swapping players even when they have a good game, players played out of position, substutions once its to late, the list goes on

He is a nice guy but not a manager

A quality manager would have done better than Holden at sorting out this pathetic bunch - injuries or not and youngsters or not.

The reason it causes disruption when we change managers is because we employ the cheap option of unproven 'yes men' who are out of their depth.

And what we can't afford is to continue on this downward spiral of dire performances and poor results with the majority of supporters getting p*ssed off and losing interest in the club.

The injury crisis has been with us for most of the season.  I bet dean would love to be able to pick from his full squad.  Since Tommy Rowe got injured, there have been no left footed options so several players have to play in unnatural positions.  We do not know which players are also carrying knocks and soldiering on for the team.  From the position of a fan, the only logical thing to do is to support our club and not kick players and staff when they are down.  For the first few matches we were near the top and people were very complimentary.  Many now seem like fair weather friends.
