Barry Bannan

True. Made 5 or 6 fouls in total. Probably should’ve got a booking at some point.
People worry about our midfield, but the shape discipline of Bakinson, combined with the endless running and closing of Weimann & Pato, mostly nullified Bannan today and denied him any space to dictate the game.

Apart from maybe two through balls I thought he was a niggly fouling little shit for pretty much the whole game today and the way he`s protected by refs is shameful and embarrassing IMO.

Maybe he had Robboreds Jizz in his eyes..?!

Spot on, the nasty one on Rowe just before half time was a stonewall yellow, by that time he had already tripped Paterson twice.

Late on he deliberately booted Semenyo & yet still escaped a booking. Not for the first time he appeared to want to be the referee as well.

Top pointer though.

Said on RB that Bannan  was the danger man especially first half and the commentators became  anxious every time he got the ball - second half tho BB barely got a mention.

Im guessing but Deano probably tweaked  the midfield to stifle BB second half.

Surely the players aren't allowed their phones in the changing rooms at half time?  ?

Bannan made a couple of passes of note in the first half, particularly When they were on the front foot one leading to a very good save.

The first half was even, more or less, but we struggled with the final ball.

In the second half we got on the ball pushed harder and broke up play almost at will for the first 35 minutes. This pushed Banon back to the point he was almost playing as a sweeper. This was in no small part due to the fact Bakinson was getting his foot in and Weimann Pato were buzzing and Martin and Wells were moving their defenders around a lot more.

This made him a bit part player. The lasT ten they got further forward And Bannan was key to that, but were now vulnerable....We scored again!

Bannon is a good player against us always but today we dealt with him and yes Bakinson was key to that!!

And he doesn`t like that. He has to be the star of the show and resorts to fouling and getting in the ref`s ear when things aren`t going his way.

Exactly what happened today IMO.
