Fevs have you perused the stats yet? I'd be interested to know if we covered less ground last night and produced fewer sprints, particularly in the first half.

My eyes told me that our intensity was right down on the mean output.

I don’t get that data I’m afraid. That’s pro data at a huge cost.

Ive got the xy pass data, but haven’t loaded it yet.

Would have been interesting if we had put Palmer in behind the two strikers tonight early in that second half, I was thinking to myself, as Pato and Andi ran ever-decreasing circles to nowhere. At least it would have given the Boro defensive midfielders something to think about instead of them smoking their cigars thinking we’ve got this wrapped up.

Who else can can we use in that role with a bit of creativity, physical presence and a goal threat?

Agreed.   Fielding a Swansea registered player would have been good to see.

Especially if he scored !   I'd imagine Warnock would have exploded with rage

No worries Fevs- I'll trust my eyes!

No doubt the stats will tell a clear story that Holden can use to demonstrate to the lads that they need to up their game in a number of areas. You would expect a lot more energy on the weekend.

There's no denying that was a shabby performance against a depleted and drab Boro side.

No passion, no desire, no energy, no fight, no creativity.

The big question is why?

Not good enough.

Not excusable.

If Holden doesn't sort it, I don't fancy our chances against the Jacks.

I didn’t see it like that.  I saw plenty of desire and energy but also a hell of a lot of frustration at being perpetually stifled by Boro’s negative tactics.  I’ve seen that happen to better teams than us.  Thankfully we don’t have to play Boro every week and I think we’ll do a lot better against Swansea.  No reason at all to panic.  But absolutely excusable - four and a half great results and we were bound to run out of steam at some stage, and Boro were exactly the sort of team to knock us off course.  You really need to get things in perspective.  4 wins, a draw and a defeat every six games translates to 98 points in a season, which is still title form.

Right.  Wyscout has updated.

Just for a bit of background, earlier this season, probably Coventry, the consensus was Massengo gave it away all the time.  The passing stats proved he didn’t.

My view (going with the eyes) was Bakinson gave it away a lot last night.

my eyes were wrong, just 4 out of 32.

However, sometimes things we consider a pass are a coming together and tracked as a duel.

Possibly some of the times he was dispossessed were duels.

Not his best night but possibly made to look worse by Paterson and to a lesser extent Weimann.

If any of you have a sensitive disposition, hide your eyes now.

Pato ???

Fair to say, Morsy did a job on him.

Weimann

Not great on his passing, but not awful either.  But usually the number the challenges he wins is far better.

Perhaps these 6 pics summarise last night pretty well.

Bakinson ok

Weimann ok(ish)

Pato awful

But every player can have an off night.

Yeah the midfield got completely outmidfielded.
