Swansea City (h) - 15:00 Sat 24th Oct - Matchday thread

Think the problem with Weimann and Paterson is they will take risks with a dribble or a pass. Which can be a good thing but on days like today when the passes are a bit off it puts us up against it. It is a bit feast or famine with those two. They both work hard enough for the position but weirdly it is going forward that is the problem at times. Think sometimes maybe a safer sideways pass would suffice and let us get a grip on the game some. Why I find it odd a Massengo or Nagy can’t make the bench. They are natural CMs and we haven’t seen them in a confident side before. Would like to see them in this setup. Also those two CM positions work just as hard as the wingbacks. They probably need a break themselves

He's had far too much acclaim on OTIB imo., still has everything to prove.

Think because he can look good dribbling out from the back. He just doesn’t defend well enough yet to be a regular imo. For Vyner’s problems he tends to read danger and take less risks. For me that puts him ahead of TM. Not that Vyner is amazing just a safer cb

Gonna do something unheard of around this forum and praise the ref, not falling for dives and trying to let the game flow.

Cue, massive refereeing balls up.

Agree - very lenient by current standards, but I like that overall. Not giving a free kick for every body contact.

Better than the other night , Semenyo looking more of a threat than Wells, and Brunt is playing very well. Just need Pato and Weimann to get more involved they’re far too deep

Indeed, Weimann at least been making himself more available than against Boro.

Pato nowhere most of the time. One decent intercept and little run but then a weak shot from a good position, aside from getting Korey a yellow, that is about all he has contributed. Surely has to come off unless he gets into the game.

Half-time summary:

Fairly even first half, Swansea look a bit of a threat with little runs in behind our CBs but coping generally quite well.

Grew into the game on the ball.  Vyner started looking inside for Brunt and got us moving.  Dasilva and Semenyo causing them issues without quite getting away....yet.  Martin not doing too much pressing, allowing Pato to do right side and Semenyo left side.  Working that pretty well, forced them into going long and giving it away.

Not quite sharp with final ball....but improving.

Semenyo....if he can skip away he's gonna do some damage!!!!
