headhunter
9/5/99: 1-0 Lorenzo Pinamonte scored the only goal [and his sole one in 7 appearances] in the final game of 98/99 which saw City return to League 1 after one season in the Championship 26/4/80: 2-3 City's final home game in Division 1 [Prem] pretty much put paid to any lingering hopes of staying up. Martin Peters in the Norwich team. Rodgers & Ritchie on the score sheet for us. The sadly departed Justin Fashanu forced City to play with 10 men after he elbowed Rodgers in the face - he left the field with the Claret flowing big time! 29/3/75: 0-1 Easter Saturday. City had beaten Southampton at The Dell the day before to put us in 3rd and promotion looked a possibility with 7 games remaining. The Canaries hadn't played the previous day so had fresh legs, Suggett's 17th minute goal being the decider. 20/9/69: 4-0 City had just 1 point from 6 games going into this game and despite taking an early lead through Skirton the crowd were edgy and when Derrick off for Bartley chants of you don't know what you're doing and Dicks out were aimed at the manager. He had the last laugh as City scored 3 in 18 minutes and 3 days later they were in charge as beat Charlton 6-0 at Ashton Gate. Was at all of these games! ashton_fan
I remember the Easter game in '75 was very disappointing after the great win at Southampton the day before (Good Friday) but I remember we stopped at a pub on the way back from the south coast for a couple of beers and the bcfc team coach pulled up outside so the players could do the same, wouldn't happen now. MC RISK77
Didn’t we play Norwich late in the playoff final season and we won 1-0 and if memory serves me right we went top of the league? Pretty sure Steve Brooker scores the winner.
