All things Bristol City U23's

Looks like a win here would mean finishing with 50 points from 25 games, 8 point lead over 2nd and 18 over 3rd for getting into the play offs. Britton likely to finish top scorer, on 15 before the game started next behind him is on 10 with 3 games left to play.

Just seen on Twitter from a Wigan fan that 5 of their side today have featured in their first team recently, including the very highly rated Kyle Joseph. The others were Long, Perry, Aasgaard (who missed the pen) & Merrie.

Also he wondered how many of them might have been celebrating survival yesterday..

The coverage of Under 23 matches on the Club site is just about passable but poor in comparison with many other clubs.

But the Under 18's get zero mention unless it is FA Youth Cup.

All of these young, aspiring stars of the future are working hard to ultimately get a regular place in our First Team. The least that Bristol City media team can do is to highlight upcoming games times and places, and provide details of the matches as they are happening. A live stream would be good especially for away matches, as we should be able to attend games at Failand next season.

Another "behind the scene" one for the club to do!

!00% agree.....it would be great encouragement for the U 18's players to know that they were being promoted and filmed, and that supporters were taking an interest in them?     Also great for City fans to be able to follow the stars of the future more readily, and see who is playing.   The footage of the U23 match at Wigan is pathetic........someone used their phone, with no zoom facility?  Is that the best u can manage media team,? ............when they have just won their league ?  At times this club portray's itself in a very amateur fashion?

Will they be playing their home games at the newly built centre next season? If so, presumably it would be easier to get coverage of uomes games at least. I would have thought there might be the opportunity to have a few spectators as well?

There must be at least 200 seats facing the pitch so I would hope they could let supporters in to watch games.

We have to be mindful that there won’t be proper camera stations at these grounds.  Some of these grounds will just have a camera on a pole which auto tracks the play or is remote controlled.

Baby steps.

We are now getting some u23 content (games / goals, player interviews etc).

The seats are something that has bewildered me somewhat.

Haven't checked the planning but would be a little surprised if the description of the development / permission mentioned use as a spectator stadium.

Sure though Mark Ashton wouldn’t have overlooked such a matter as he leaves no stone unturned in his drive to resolve everything to do, well, with just about everything and anything that is good about Bristol City (so he tells us anyhow).

Fair enough...but that Wigan U23 game was recorded on a mobile phone, and a not very good one?   There are plenty of good video cameras with zoom facilities on..............It was a pretty lame effort.  Give me a set of step ladders and a £99.99p Camcorder and i could have turned that into Match of the Day! ?  Ha!!  ?

Fine.........

From knowing bits and pieces from what's usually involved, taking a punt from Wigan's footage I can probably make a guess at what camera was used and it probably costs £200, because its likely a camera on a pole as fevs mentioned (as in the picture below) it means when water gets on the lens either you have to let it stay on there and carry on filming or bring it down and clean it to stick it back up and miss part of the game so usually only brought down if unwatchable. Bare in mind Monday when the 23's played up in Wigan by the forecast was basically a storm so rain can wreak havoc with the electrics involved.

The media team have stuck highlights from home 18's games on a few times from memory and usually looks pretty decent, you have to keep in mind the filming for this will be for the clubs use for analysis and then used for highlights, it won't be the media team filming it for the purposes of highlights.
