Shades of LJ's reactionary nature here. Just because it works in the last bit of the previous game doesn't necessarily mean it's suited for the start of the next one. I thought we were seeing a new style where he'd stick to his plan regardless of the result.

No win in 5 and decimated squad, really not surprised by the switch. If we lost he’d then get heavily criticised for sticking after the performance after the change.

or 4-2-2-2

                     Bentley

       Hunt Vyner Kalas Dasilva

               O'Dowda Nagy

       Semenyo                Paterson

             Wells         Martin

If it's 4-3-3 how does it work?

                      Bentley

       Hunt Vyner Kalas Dasilva

                        Nagy

           O'Dowda    Paterson

       Wells      Martin   Semenyo

Because Wells or Martin out wide seems as dumb as Afobe out wide.

So could it be Martin Deeper?

                    Bentley

       Hunt Vyner Kalas Dasilva

               Nagy O'Dowda

                     Martin

       Semenyo Wells  Paterson

Interesting to see!

Ah 4-2-2-2, like Le Carrier Magique favoured by Michel Hidalgo's France at the 1982 World Cup. I recall that Brazil favoured a similar formation at that tournament under Tele Santana.

Looking at that bench we don’t really have a choice. I don’t mind him sticking with what we finished on Tuesday.

Semenyo deserves his start too.

Wow. David James’ research had been thorough.
Must’ve involved looking at wiki and seeing how many games someone has played!!

“Nagy - well, from what I’ve seen of him, he’s played 100 games and scored 2 goals, so I don’t think he’ll be a goal threat”.

Jeez!! Can’t they get someone on who actually knows about our team?
