How many clubs will use COVID as an excuse to bin off the cup competitions to free up their diaries for more training and rest for the league?

on the flip side, a chance for someone to get through many rounds that they may not have done previously?

Apparently due to covid Derby are going to field a team of under 23’s for their game against Chorley

Looks like villa may have to do the same tonight

Aston Villa are preparing to field a team of youngsters in Friday's FA Cup third-round tie at home to Liverpool after a "significant" Covid-19 outbreak at the club.

Confirmed that this game is now going ahead - will be an interesting watch

I've just signed up for the FA Player after days of trying and failing on different devices and with different browsers.  Eventually I contacted the help email address this morning and they responded within a couple of hours.

In my case the problem was an apostrophe in the second line of address.  Apparently other characters such as - or / can also cause the registration process to fail.  Rather than using the address finder, if you select the "I'm not in the UK" option and enter your address manually (without the offending characters) then this solves the problem.

Poor form that the FA has such temperamental systems.  But the response when I contacted them was pretty quick and helpful.

I would say it’ll be like the league cup game last season when Liverpool were at the world club championship but suspect it’ll be an all under 23’s tie now

You obviously underestimate Liverpool. To their credit they’ve put a fairly strong team out tonight.

Maybe today klopp will take note and understand why 5 subs is a bad idea,he tells us that we have to look after players and then brings the whole squad to a FA Cup game

They have an 8 day break and haven't exactly been sharp in recent weeks so not really the best counter argument to Klopp. None of their big names playing 90 mins bar Fabinho at CB

They haven’t been in great form will give you that but the travel for the worn out big names to sit on the bench to beat a under 12s villa side isn’t exactly backing his argument up

Liverpool to Birmingham back isn't exactly taxing for them not playing 90 mins
