Why Chris Houghton never got the job

That's (Moments) the most illogical, one-eyed anti Lj comment I have ever ever read on this, the 'anti-Lj forum'  which frankly discredit everyone on here who has a football brain.

To simply imply all our early wins or (Aug - Dec) performances were easy defies footballing belief.

BTW the Aug to Dec in our Cup season was the best football seen at this club in history (bar the first division) so just accept that Lj was an extraordinary talent as a young manager with us and move on.

I suppose DH is having it all easy as well right now with the 'real period' to come in the New Year?.

Wow, some people.

He didnt get the job because dean holden was simply the best candiate out of over 100 applicants including CH

Dont forget that Dean Holden is an amazing human being.

That alone was worth 703 Ashton points on the patented, "Ashton Interview Matrix".  Or AIM for short.

It's true, cheaper than Johnson,

Holden was probably the cheapest option of all those who expressed an interest or were short-listed.

Definitely not a breath of fresh air.

But we're stuck with him for now, so he better do well.

I don't have time for all these "players are injured/tired" excuses. It's the same for every club. We're better off than some, worse off than others. So what?

Next thing we know is we'll be getting "missing their mummy" excuses.

The cheaper option line is complete nonsense

Do you really think that SL with a £30 million pound wage bill is going to take a risk because he can save , at most Id suggest a couple of grand a week

Whether SL & his lieutenants appointed the right man is a fair debate that will run and run but to suggest its to save on the head coaches wages is laughable tbh

the cost of Hughton was the £60 million he wanted for transfer fees plus wages, with him in complete control.  That's why he didn't get the job.
