What we are missing in midfield?

Went to find the article on Bobby Reid and also found this.

I am not saying that Pack would have solved all of our current problems but he would certainly have strengthened it. And protected the defence and given us more physicality.

It’s also amazing to think that we have completely changed our midfield in the last 18 months but not obviously for the better, especially on the evidence of the last 2 games.

Marlon pack left over a year ago. Yes he would strengthen us now cos our whole midfield is missing....you could stick a 60 year old tinnion in there and he could probably do a job.

But with a couple of players back in Pack wouldn't get a look in. So pointless going on about him.

Good article on Pack.
He’ll always split opinion on here, but the comment from Harris is there about his leadership, his bravery and his support for the younger players is apt to our current problems.
If we’d kept Pack last year, Massengo would’ve had more freedom and success if he learned from Marlon on the pitch. He’d be a much better player now. Same with Nagy I feel.

Pack needed to be kept around last year to nurture his replacements. The fact he wasn’t left us in an untried and inexperienced midfield situation that has carried over to this season.

Worst piece of business we’ve done, getting rid of him when we did.

We’re missing pretty much all the attributes of a ‘decent’ midfield. At the moment nobody is taking control, no leadership, no composure, no grit, no quality, no confidence....

That may sound a bit of an overreaction, but I think last night has scarred me for a while. It was that bad!

Honestly, while our midfield is lacking (goals in particular) we miss Bob the most. People forget that he didn’t just grab 19 goals, he got plenty of assists too. His work rate combined with an ability to both score and lay on goals is *exactly* what we’re currently missing. Fam & Bob together was lethal.

Kasey Palmer then!

You’ve obviously not watched his second half substitute showing for Swansea tonight

Cheating in his defensive work , letting people run off him all half , , (surprise , surprise) , done nothing on the ball ....spent most of the half on the floor ....................Abysmal

Between them Pack, Smith and Brownhill pretty much covered all the bases as far as midfield is concerned.

Their replacements are all inferior imho so it's no wonder we're struggling (with the caveat we're yet to see Joe Williams but the chances of him being a one man cure for all our ills are slim to none).

We are paying more money to our current strikers than any others in our history - without anyone in midfield to adequately supply them.

Recruitment, recruitment, recruitment.

Dear oh dear oh dear.

Regardless of personnel. Theres one thing.

MOVEMENT!

Our cb’s must be fed up of looking up at our midfielders playing a game of statues. No wonder we hoof it because they never have a decent option. Nobody shows for the ball.
This is exactly where we miss Pack to collect the ball and play through the lines.
Yes we have injuries but NOTHING makes up for lack of tactics, instruction or FOOKING MOVEMENT!

Why do the best teams always look like they have more players on the field? Why do they keep the ball so well? Because they actually move, show for a pass and then show again.
Our midfield movement in general is PATHETIC!

Not quite right in the article - they paid 750k up front for Pack, with the installments and add ons it comes to £4m.

You only have to search his name on twitter to see how he splits opinion with the Cardiff fans!

Yep. Just as he did here.
The intelligent ones like him, the stupid ones don’t. ?

Just joking folks, just joking.
