Wife not 100%.  Saw Specialist today and needs urgent surgery next Monday.  FFS.  Seems like the cancer has returned.

Best Wishes for your wife, obviously, and I remember your account of your elderly parents in Australia when you were unable to visit due to the COVID travel restrictions so I hope all turns out as well as it can.

It is at moments like your wife’s current predicament that one appreciates the French health system - an urgent medical intervention just one week after a specialist appointment.

Good Luck

Sad to hear this, hope they get it all out and you both have many years ahead of you after.

Been living in fear of your last 4 words myself for 2 years now but luckily all clear to date and 3mth MRI/CT/Endescopy watch has now changed to 4 monthly. Its not over but every minute/day/month/year is a bonus for me from what could have been a life ending bowel tumor if not noticed/caught/operated on early enough.

Hope all goes well with the surgery, and her battle with cancer is won :fingerscrossed:

Sadly, Mrs Red (Andrea) passed away peacefully in the early hours of Friday morning with me and our 3 boys surrounding her with the love that she always respected.  We are broken but we made a promise to her that we would stay strong as a unit and somehow get through this.

We have spent a very emotional weekend talking, reminiscing, crying and laughing because before the cancer, life had been beautiful.  We will get through this, I am determined of that.  It is what she would have wanted.

Really sorry to hear that. I lost my Mum to cancer in January and know how your boys will be feeling. They’ll get you through it I’m sure. Stay strong mate.

Don't be afraid of emotion, VR. It sort of washes us of raw grief and lets us function. Facing it all as a close family unit and remembering everything Andrea was about and all those good times, will help you.

On a personal level, I'm so sorry to hear your news.  Cancer is so very cruel.

My thoughts are with you recently lost my partner who was hit by a van while walking along the pavement to the hairdressers.

There is nothing anyone can say x

Feel free to reach out to us at Go Again. We are a Bristol based Mental Health Charity. We provide free professional mental health support for people at all levels of sport including local junior, grassroots and non-league clubs. We also support people who are struggling after leaving clubs and academies.

We are lucky to have the support of Frank Fielding who is helping us to mentor players who are going through a difficult time.

We have a West Country Legends fundraising match on Wednesday 27th of April at Clevedon Town 19:30 kick off and is free entry. So far we have former City players such as Chris Weale, Scott Murray, Jamie McAllister and Lee Peacock playing. Lee Trundle is also hoping to make it. There will also be other former players involved who will be playing against a team of representatives from local charities and grassroots clubs. Feel free to come down.

Drop us a message if we can help.

Want to share a podcast about mental health and football.

Quickly Kevin, Will He Score? is a podcast all about 90's football, so for those of us of a certain generation it's a great listen. They've done an episode in association with the NHS. It's an interview with Tony Adams, and explores his career, his well-documented health issues, and his life in general.

This week we're honoured to be joined by England and Arsenal legend Tony Adams to discuss his incredible career and his work beyond the game with the Sporting Chance charity. This very special bonus episode in association with the NHS is also to help raise awareness of a cause we believe strongly in - mental health and increasing the awareness of the support available.

For those that feel they might need it, help is out there. NHS mental health service are a free, effective, and confidential way to treat common mental health issues. Help can be offered in a number of ways including in person, by video consultation, over the phone or as an online course. So, before we talk to Tony, we just want to let you know that if you need help with your mental health, you can refer yourself, or if you’d rather -  a GP is always around to refer you. Go to;  nhs.uk/help for more information.

The below is a link to it, but if you search "Quickly Kevin" on any podcast app it will come up.

It's all well and good, but depression is awful and talking doesn't always help. I've had massive depression issues for years and tried to top myself a couple of times. I am depressed more than I am Okay. I don't have many friends, through my own doings, and ruined my life years ago. Don't look for pity but the reality is I hate living life so miserably, but I don't want to kill myself and don't want to bring more shame on my family by doing so. If people don't know what living with depression is like, I don't think they can even discuss it with people, its something you have to experience to understand. Only the other day I was DM'ing someone on Instagram, a 25yo girl who is successful, talented and always been there to talk to for me, and she was on about ended it all and needing to go to hospital to sort things. This is the crazy world we live in. I genuinely don't think I have any friends in the world, outside of family no one cares about me, I've messed up in life too many times to blame anyone but myself, but its life. But depression is a killer, I would say at least half the day I'm depressed, I've just got used to living with it.

Sorry to those people who have lost loved ones, never nice. Thoughts to those suffering.

You have explained depression very well.  I still go to bed every night hoping that when I close my eyes, it will be for the last time.  However, strange as it may sound, you have to be in the right frame of mind if you seriously intend to take your own life.  At the moment I'm not in that place, not because there are good things in my life, but, well, just because, I suppose.

To add to my pile of misery that April brings, today I was on my way back from taking my daughter out for the day when I witnessed a stabbing happen across the road. Had we not stopped to get her a chocolate bar, we may have been right next to it. Called the police and ambulance but people who were right there were able to give statements and things.

Horribly, I felt completely desensitised by it because of what I've seen before. 16 year old boy just after 4pm in a city centre. School kids around, daylight, same street as a police station here in wolves.

Just a quick updste from me, six months since my beloved partner passed away.

Life is difficult and always will be.  The pain changes over time.  Everyone on here has been brilliant.

Work has been absolutely wonderful.  I spent most of this week at Head Office.  Every one of the senior management team passed me by and expressed delight at seeing me and hope for the futuire.  I flew home tonight feeling that people cared.

But most importantly a very, very junior member of my team lost their mother last week in tragic circumstances.  We chatted about our losses and just now I had a message from their father thanking me.

I'm in bits again.

But life is better.

For all of you in pain please use us all.  Message or chat anytime, please!

Awesome, good luck with the counseling. Will be getting some myself in the near future. Keep talking, keep thinking, keep learning more about yourself.

And enjoy the podcast!

Took me all my strength to leave the house today.

Last couple of weeks have been more batshit than usual with poison pen letters and the ex deciding to try and cancel the entire tenancy because she's utterly off on one.

Add to that she's decided to move out Easter Saturday, wanted to invite half her family to do it and then has ignored small claims. It's a weeny bit stressful

These next 5 days are going to be bloody torture ?

Dig deep to find some inner strength if you can.  Try to focus ahead to when she's moved out, and hopefully things may be less stressful for you.  Tough times indeed - take care, and reach out if you need to.

Thanks lovely.

My head is actually up my arse. She's due round to disconnect her washing machine tonight and I need chaperones to keep me safe from her...

When I said things were messed up they're truly on a different level of bizarre. All communications go through her boss or her aunt, and can arrive at any time. The landlord rang me when she tried to cancel the entire tenancy, not just her coming off it, whilst he'd just stepped off a plane coming back from holiday, seriously. I've had random texts off people claiming to be someone she knows and pretty much everything in between.

I'm trying to keep busy this week, everything is up in the air at home too, so not helpful as I'm temping and had two job offers but only inital ones rather than actual and one of those changed yesterday from permenant to six months.

It's a bit stressful as you'd imagine. Coffee is my friend and will see what happens next.

Tough times......I can relate to having an ex like that ...though not on any scale you're describing here, she sounds very unpredictable I hope somewhere in the future you can get some peace from it.sadly mine will always be in my life.

I'm glad things have calmed down.

I've just small claims and two potential court cases to go, plus sort the rest of their stuff to sort being picked up.

Been a bit crazy last 6 months. Finally getting the house how I want it though. #smallwins.

Just little steps at the time and before you know it you will be all sorted and happy ?

Sorry to read that there was drama.  I hope that you can begin to enjoy the house now, and that this will help with your stress levels

Stay strong, eventually it will all be sorted - hold that thought!  Take care.

Sunshine after the rain? after a rectal c tumor removed 3 years ago and following 4monthly MRI, CT, Ultrasound, blood tests all of which were clear, today have been signed off consultants care.

No guarantee some other form of cancer wont rear its head sometime in the future but please ANY sign of blood/pain down there GET IT CHECKED OUT do not ignore it, the longer you do the higher price you could pay.

I must thank the doctor (who has now himself passed away) who referred me to the hospital and the consultant who did the "Tems op" with no visible cuts,

Do not put it off till tomorrow/next week it could be too late by then.
