A little light relief.

As not much football for us over the coming weeks thought i would post a little photo quiz. I use to take photographs down the gate in the 70's. I have just bought a scanner to digitize my slides over Christmas. Not as sharpe as they should be, but see if you can name these players.745890378_IMG00001(2).thumb.JPG.226a4aee0570a4fffcc95741e9f57828.JPG1999999820_IMG00002(2).thumb.JPG.060716928843c7ae2119c2cbef08ac02.JPG183646616_IMG00003(2).thumb.JPG.bdee7cca8956aa3f581c5a229067d2bd.JPG694222092_IMG00004(3).thumb.JPG.30b25f70eccff62e11f28532bb7fac54.JPG493576550_IMG00005(4).thumb.JPG.9bbcf6ef28fc931a1c7461f6184aa571.JPG1369398791_IMG00008(2).thumb.JPG.ab4840b7331362d8d4102a583b1af9bc.JPG

I thought it might be John Emmanuel.

No, it's not Emanuel.

By the look of the shirt and badge it's about early 70's. At the time we had quite a few young reserve players who rarely played because most of the time the team was largely unchanged, but they made the odd appearance filling in for an injury.

The likes of Ian Broomfield, Martin Rogers, Paul Crowley, Eddie Woods, Kevin Griffin and Dave Bruton appeared on pre season squad photos but never really made their mark.

Pretty sure it's none of the others so I'm going for Bruton.

I remember Bruton and I don’t think it’s him - pretty sure that he didn’t have any facial hair.  I thought John Emmanuel at first, but I don’t think so now.  Certainly mid-70s though.  He doesn’t look like a youngster...

Here's John Emanuelimage.jpeg.d4c4ea07c7d841d822203ae0554dad1a.jpeg.

It may not be Bruton either, my best guess though!

I think Pic No. 1 is Steve Harding:

Played only 2 matches for City in his entire career - on the winning side each time in 75/76. Covered the 2 games Collier missed that season

Looks good to me, went on to play 38 games for Rovers (not so good!)

Here's a picture of the aforementioned Mike Brolly for comparison ( could have been separated at birth ;))

A more recent pic.  Nugent is the one on the left along with Torpey on the right after retiring from football.

I think that's just mean.

At that time I enjoyed watching both play, thought they were decent. I guess that's more a reflection on where we were as a team than anything. ?

wasn't Nugent a very hard working player, always chasing down ? A busy bee if you will.

From memory yes, ran about a lot, limited with what he could do with it if he actually got the ball ?
