Possible coincidence to our injuries?

Think you could be right in a couple of aspects there

Quite probably when it comes to muscle injuries, but fitness coaching will not stop Nathan Baker getting a bang on the head Callum O'Dowda breaking his leg or Jack Hunt getting a gashed ankle.

We do seem to get more than our fair share of soft tissue injuries though.

I I was always taught that you you were more likely to get injured challenging half-heartedly than by going 100% into a tackle.  That may be an issue for some of our lightweights.

I don’t understand why some posters question that the lengthy injury list is down to the medical/physio department.................:dunno: The fact is that body repairing itself cannot be hurried.

Football is a contact sport and injuries happen virtually every game. City have been unlucky. It is what it is.

This may have been covered in the various threads regarding our injuries but am I right in thinking we brought in the fitness guy from arsenal who was there under Arsen  Wenger when they had a **** ton of unexplainable injuries?

The dots are being joined on the Gregor - Joe Williams thread, on the back of Williams reportedly being unhappy at the medical treatment he's received.

Long story short, you're talking about Mark Ashton's mate Andy Rolls, who was sacked at West Ham when they were beseiged with injuries.

Basically, the buck stops with Ashton. He's brought in his old mate, despite a dire track record for similar negligence at both Arsenal and West Ham. Our injury record since 2018 is not a coincidence, IMO.

I would also question our fitness people. This season is seems that we do not have the energy to maintain a press. I have lost count of the number of times I have heard commentators comment that individuals in our team are running out of steam. If your basic level of fitness is not high enough muscle injuries increase when you play under fatigue

Please explain then why some players are unhappy with their rehab . We’ve been unlucky for three years have we ?

Are you serious ? Confirmed by the media . Don’t come back with “it’s not on the os “ bollocks either because it won’t be.
Please answer my question to you.
Do you think we’ve been unlucky with injuries for THREE years ?

Something a friend of mine mentioned

The vast majority of our muscle injuries seem to happen either at Ashton Gate or our training ground rather than at away games

Is there an issue with the pitches we are using ? Did we get these injuries before using this new desso pitch?

The pitch was in place before the Double winning season wasn't it? I can't recall there being the same level of injuries in that timeframe.

Deluded rubbish. This cannot be explained by luck.

Why do clubs employ physios, S&C experts and doctors if it's just down to luck? The better, more intelligently run clubs employ the best people.

How come Bristol Bears have less injuries than City? Twice as many players playing a game that has exponentially more concussions and loads more injuries.

The answer lies in the leadership.

Is it three year?        :dunno:

Yeah, I would say that City have been unlucky with injuries. I’m certainly not going to point the finger at the medical/physio departments ineptitude. These guys are fully qualified, professional people who know what they’re doing. The days of Buster Footman are long gone thankfully

I daresay that City aren’t the only Championship club to have a lengthy injury list.

Pointing the finger in that direction is exactly what everyone should be doing

Of course some injuries are down to bad luck, and they always will be.

But the frequency with injuries that occur away from a matchday is down to the medical, fitness and training staff as well as bad luck.

Other clubs of course have injuries but we seem to consistently pick up month/season long injuries to key players more than the average championship club.

Not me.........I judge things on the available evidence and with regard to injuries there is no evidence that anything is to blame - however if you consider otibs speculation and the media reliable ‘evidence’............:cool2: then I just don’t agree.

Point Is tho do any of us know how many other Championship clubs have lengthy injuries as we do?
We as City fans obviously take a keen interest in our injured players but almost certainly take little interest in other clubs injuries.

We obviously don't take as much notice of other clubs injuries but as 1 example I have two colleagues who are Luton and Reading fans who often comment on how many injuries we seem to get when I update them on which player has gone off injured that weekend ?

Jesus you are clueless.

They available evidence is that we have miles more injuries than is normal. We wouldn't have sent the likes of Palmer Pring etc out on loan if we thought we'd get so many long term injuries would we??

So we have an abnormal number of injuries. That can only explained by poor strength & conditioning, incorrect diagnosis, poor recovery strategies or overloading in training. Or most likely a combination of them all.

Given we have a head of 'Performance', I think all City fans should be pointing their index fingers in that individual's direction as well as that of his previous colleague who appointed him.

At the moment  'performance' just isn't happening for a lot of our players. Those recovering from injuries are doing it away from Bristol City with their own specialists or their parent clubs.
