Lrrr
Mods if there’s an appropriate thread I’ve missed then merge. for anyone who talks about us needing to move our deadwood on, this can give an idea of the difficulty in that. tin
I think that'll result in more of the bigger clubs loaning players out and covering a high percentage of the wages. That's seemingly the only way they'll be able to give younger players League experience or to put established players they want to sell in the shop window. If we could get Hourihane on loan and Villa pay a large chunk of his wages, happy days.
winsaw
Honestly think it's a good thing hopefully soon we will be seeing the end of some very average players earnings silly money in the championship,

Absolutely, but this wouldn’t be because of Salary Cap, it would be because of good negotiation 8 minutes ago, Lrrr said: The championship is awkward because of relegated premier league clubs and the ridiculous money up there, you can't cap championship too low or its impossible for prem clubs to reduce wages, if you give them a grace period the quality gap becomes too high and they'll just go straight back up and you know premier league won't cap wages too low if they go with a salary cap The initial proposal was £18m based on a 25 man squad average of £720k pa per player (the average Champ salary!!!), with various provisos, e.g. u21s wages are excluded from the £18m any currently contracted player earning greater than £720k, will for the purposes of FFP be reported as £720k (e,g. Capped) - so that covers your Premier League relegation scenario Any amount of a players wages being paid by a club loaning one if your players can be excluded too, e,g. Portsmouth were paying £40k of Cam Pring’s £50k wages, City would only need to submit £10k for FFP reporting. Furthermore PL teams need to be more disciplined in writing contracts with relegation wage reduction clauses. With no parachute payments, this will drive this behaviour.
