Defensively in the two games he’s been back has made a huge difference. Also bringing out the best in Kalas . These two staying  fit will make a huge difference to our aspirations

Agree. He is different class. A real leader too which we lack massively. What a performance given the time out he’s had.

Nope. would cost a bomb.

In normal times absolutely but, these are not normal times.

I think his availability will depend on whether Fulham stay up.

That said, he could well still be too expensive for us. If he stays fit and keeps playing well there will be a lot of interest in him.

Think that challenge on Johnson after 6 minutes set the tone for a much better physical / competing performance.  Johnson didn’t like it and had a quiet game.

He gets in the striker’s shorts (bit like Bailey Wright did, albeit different class) and gives them a tough afternoon.  Things for both Moore and Vyner to learn.

Class, class, class.

Agree 100% I was more gutted about him getting injured than anyone . He made a big impact to the start of the season. Not just defensively but tempo. Can’t underestimate how much confidence him & kalas must give to the rest of the side , especially midfield

He did the same to Macguire and came almost to halfway line to do it. Any thoughts he might have had about playing deeper to get space, went straight out the window.

If you’re good positionally, good at reading the game, have a bloke with a bit of pace alongside you, you can play a much higher line.

In my preview i mentioned how PNE turn the ball around the corner for Maguire to run onto.  We kept a high line, a disciplined line and caught Maguire out 3 times early on.  That meant they could get a foothold on the game, couldn’t get up the pitch.  We did to Preston, what other teams do to us.  They weren’t especially poor, we were just good in that opening 25-30 mins.
