For the love of God, sack him!

Sick to the back teeth of this. We are in free fall. If SL genuinely harbours ambitions of getting us to the PL, wake up and get rid of Ashton tonight and try to get Paul Cook in. Failing that, a European candidate. If Barnsley can do it, so can we.

Why? Nobody worth their sort will work under Ashton. That’s why we’ve been told Holden was the outstanding candidate. To get the better coaches and move forward as a club, Ashton has to go.

As for Holden, he also needs to go but ideally with his head held high. No-one blames him for taking the job, but he’s out of this depth. If SL won’t remove him, Dean, do the right thing and resign.

Put your money where your mouth is, SL. If you want PL, you need to keep us in the Championship first — and that’s by no means certain this season.

Ashton and Holden gone tonight and if he doesn’t act then as far as im concerned Lansdown can **** off too

Ran out of likes but absolutely.

Had enough of SL mediocrity now.

He took over with us just outside the L1 playoffs in 2002/03.

Imagine spending almost 20 years and countless millions climbing about 16 places in the pyramid.

Would love new investment and ownership now.

I pray our next manager can give us a genuine identity in the way that we play and to sign players to fit that identity. Like Dean Smith did at Brentford or Martinez at Swansea.

Not the current tactic of randomly signing any players that become available and seem a good deal.

Holden this week

I’m so excited about the next few games because in the next month or so we’ve got games against teams around us in the playoffs. So our season is alive and kicking in the next few weeks. We looked really good in that 3-5-2 tonight, really organised and looked like we carried a threat. It’s a big couple of weeks for us now and we’ve got renewed hope and renewed belief on the back of that performance

Seriously ? - F****** Laughable

With all of our discussions around will they / won't they wield the axe, might today just be the day that our manager stays sitting in the dugout for an hour after full time? Are our current showings as humiliating as those in 2005, and would Dean have the integrity to walk if it came to it?

No

And miss out on a big pay off if he were to be sacked. Don't think so and tbh I wouldn't blame him. He was set up from the very beginning IMO

Ashton has been a disaster - this team is the least talented, motivated worst coached we've had for decades.    There is no prospect of success in the forseeable future.   For all the investment in staff, academy, players, transfer income he has delivered nothing.  No coach with any sense would work under him.

The problem is much deeper than Holden. He will get the blame but he should never have been appointed.

Our recruitment has been poor since Ashton has been here.

Let's be honest apart from the Johnson's and Cotterill all the managerial appointments under the Lansdown era have been awful.

Coppell and SOD on paper were decent appointments although they didnt work out obviously. And the two Johnsons and Cotts. That's 5 in 19 years. Not terrible. But I agree that generally there is no real rhyme and reason to the appointments. I think that will be probably Holden done. SL is loyal but I think McInnes and SOD sackings show not loyal when there are no signs of anything positive.

So let's see what next .
