But listening to SL and MA we are obviously the only club that had a short pre-season. Not that we make excuses of course.

Big focus on our own medical team but I mentioned weeks ago what about specialists too?  Big questions here too.

Eff me!!!

It's just crap.  It's crap on the pitch. It's crap off the pitch.  This mountains of injuries are crap.  Just crap.  I have other verbs but can't use them.  But crap it.  I have no positives from this season.  None.  Absolute CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP!  This season has now broken me.  Cos it's so crap.

Just to confirm, are you of the opinion that it’s crap, or have I misread your post?

I don't moan much, but even I've had enough of this nonsense.

Something has to be done. Its absolutely ridiculous. I find it completely unprofessional to not have sorted this out by now. These injuries are still happening and I guess we are still 'looking into it!'

My worry is the conclusion will be that it's just bad luck.

I just can't see how the absolutely crazy amount of very long term injuries - all season, half a season, a third or quarter are all long periods out. I just can't see it as bad luck.

I even forget that we have certain players at our club that we haven't even heard about for so long!

We take six weeks to appoint a manager.  Sorting the route cause of this issue is going to take the club months or years to fix. Absolutely crazy that this has been going on for so long.

If I were a player I think I would insist on finding my own specialist. Perhaps Williams did, given that he, not the club, told us about the latest position.

With all the injury problems this club has (which shows little sign of improving), the general bad atmosphere plus the lack of quality the players have shown when fight is needed, I'm not sure why a manager/coach would ever want to come here - genuinely, what is the attraction because I cant see it?

We are a ship that is sinking with very little to be positive about and even less sign of what we are good at to get us out of this mess.

Club comms is an effing joke. They treat us like we don’t exist.
Lied to about the extent of injuries all season.
Ashton even had the audacity to go on the radio the other week and say how great it was that Afobe wanted to do his rehab with us. Well, Afobe was on a podcast last week saying how grateful he was to Gary Lewin for setting up a clinic so that he could do all his rehab there. Who’s telling the truth?
This injury hit season has shown the true character of our club under the current leaders. Incompetent, careless, deceitful.
I absolutely ******* despise Mark Ashton and I don’t care what anyone else says to defend him. The blokes a high class ***!

I agree, the Williams injury just feels like a kick in the teeth to far, I think the club is in a right mess in certain departments now and I just don't see us changing

I remember Williams talking about prior to joining, he was only doing some light training due to the situation at Wigan, then came in and got injured in his 1st training session, therefore was this down to our poor coaches pushing a player to hard or a performance / medical team who have not accessed his fitness correctly?

Think he can feel justifiably peeved, to be pushed so hard by DH when just coming back from the injury, that not unlucky that's just a desperate bad head coach.

With Steve in Guernsey and John in Bermuda. That leaves Ashton a free hand over the club and we all know the direction we are going. Steve you have sorted one cog out you have to get rid of Ashton, the coaches, the medical team, the PR team and the fitness personal. We may then have a chance. Over to you Steve.

I definitely remember that at the time, think it was set up due to their Arsenal links. Also remember Afobe doing workouts in his house & ball work at a local pitch to where he lives with a friend during the first lockdown. COYR

It is pretty weird despising a bloke who you don’t know personally.

Seems way ott. He's not my cup of tea as a CEO either but hey bigger things in the world to worry about.

You going to make yourself ill.

Not personal. Although I have met him a few times. I can see what he’s doing to the club and it ain’t good.
And don’t worry, my health is fine.
It’s ok for me to hate someone and stay healthy.

Not really. I despise Donald Trump. Never met him. Never going to meet him. I'm sure most right thinking people of the time who had a view would have despised Adolf Hitler.

It's been written before but Andy Rolls was bought in by Ashton as head of performance, or some such title, despite the previous clubs where he worked (Arsenal & West ham) having awful injury records during his tenure.

What's needed, but doubt SL has the conviction for it, is an independent review of the situation, no good asking Ashton to effectively mark his own homework!

When players are sent for scans presumably the scan information is interpreted by a specialist, not by the club’s medical people?

The medical people then act on that prognosis and agree a treatment plan?

Surgery is always the last result unless it is clear this is the only course of action that will resolve the problem.

I’m not sure our own medics are entirely responsible for the current injury situation and the length of time it’s taking to get injured players back.
