Managerless Bristol

Of course Trollope came in as Head Coach with Lenny Lawrence as Director of Football. Then the Gas thought that they could do it on the cheap and that they didn’t need Lawrence. After that they got relegated, and then relegated out of the League. The warning signs should be clear to our own board - either appoint a manager or if you have a young head coach, you also need a Director of Football.

And before anyone quotes LJ not needing one, he just had his dad as our unofficial DoF!

It seems to be quite usual when there are two clubs sharing, (however unequally) a city that, there are often parallels in achievements or failures. Possibly with one team doing well, it spurs the other team, owners and fans to do likewise. Equally, if one team is on the slippery slope, then there might not be quite the same pressure for the other team to do better, leading to a downturn as well, "ah well, it could be worse, we could support that other lot". I believe there's a correlation to teams being relegated or promoted, when their rivals are doing likewise. Perhaps a stato could make comparisons.

Sheffield is certainly proving your point this season at least.
