Clearly just about every player we have on that pitch is capable of playing better. We have seen them do so at various times.

Totally devoid of confidence, any sense of team spirit or anything even approaching a ‘system’. Just too many players going through the motions. It’s mind boggling just how bad we are.

Kalas been ok. Moore awful to start with but a couple of nice moments later on. Got to half time level purely based on Barnsley unable to finish their chances so far..

Bloody depressing again. Would anyone not take the draw right now?

I really hope Landsdown and co have been watching this, are assessing the 2 coaches and don't take weeks to sort out the next manager. Someone with experience and coaching ability is desperately needed to improve this team and quickly.  The longer this goes on the harder it will be to turn this around.

Poor first half: a few times we tried (a good counter-attack around 18th minute, another one made by Fammy and Hunt, a shot by Fammy ) but Barnsley were more dangerous.

Positives: we didn't concede, Sessegnon seems fit.

Hopefully a new manager will start with playing players in the position they should be. Not playing a CB in midfield when you have 3 genuine midfielders on the bench. Not playing a past-it ACM as DM. That would be a good start!

1st half summary:

The dearth of quality from us....wow.

The lack of football intelligence in either our runs beyond their back line....wow.

The lack of football intelligence to not try to play that pass when the runner has run offside....wow.

The lack of football intelligence from Bentley's distribution....wow.  Cost Hunt a yellow from an early throw out.  And kicks straight down the middle.

Took a full 30 mins to play 3 structured passes - HL > AS > JH

Harem Scarem pressing from Barnsley, but our coaches have shown no gameplay to combat it.

Vyner absolutely non-existent in there, Lansbury not screening, in which case it needs them to stop playing side by side, and work it out themselves.

Moore, some shaky moments, but a couple of key interventions too, lets hope he can take confidence from that.

Semenyo has the beating of Andersen in behind.

Eff me Simmo and Keith (no nickname) - you've got to do better in your prep than this!!!

Spot on, @ExiledAjax. I said much the same at the time, that was followed by undeserved wins at Cardiff and Huddersfield where Bentley was the hero once again. It was clear to me back then that once Bentley’s form dipped 1%, results would turn and this is where we are. The board is to blame.

Think we are going too direct with a long ball most of the time which means FD and AS are isolated. Need to hold it a bit longer in midfield and then slip it through with more care/creativity.

Managed our customary one shot on target and no corners. Given our fragile confidence and recent performances this is a little more encouraging and a small step in the right direction.

We need a couple of midfielders on the pitch to do that.

They're sat on the bench unfortunately.

Palmer trying to get into the game and having a go fair play, which is more than Vyner and Lansbury who are just hoofing it or giving it away, no composure at all.

Absolutely no way at all we can win this game as it stands - we can't score from our own half ffs.
