They don’t move and they hide making every pass more and more difficult. When they do get it, they can’t get rid of it quickly enough!!! If there’s no immediate option, you don’t see any composure, it’s just shear panic, get rid and smash it up pitch. We are not a team in any sense of the word. It’s like watching 11 strangers. No partnerships anywhere on the pitch, the defensive, midfield and attacking units don’t work together either. Ive honestly never seen anything like it whilst watching City. City have been low possession and not high accuracy for a significant period = I wouldn't expect to see composure. City looked to play forward quickly and long. There was an onus on not keeping the ball. There is a vicious circle because the base of possession they work from is not secure. Too much change creates uncertainty. Passing patterns cannot be internalised, this includes movement. Add Barnsley pushing right up squeezing the space and poor decision (stress) making follows. And that's after working all week,,,no chance to train,,,playing a decent standard of football on a Saturday afternoon,,,getting pissed up/kebab'd up,,,then kick off at 10.30 next morning... Maybe our lot shouldn't train together at all & get steaming as a group of blokes the night before every game... We wouldn't be any worse for it. Plus has it has been said so often " don't even start me on throw ins" Not sure what are corner taking and shooting is like for obvious reasons. Other than that ... Which is fine if there is then an emphasis on winning the drop downs, winning the ball back quickly, high up the pitch and forcing the opposition into mistakes..... But that doesn’t seem to be part of the “plan”.
Atticus
That shows a complete lack of confidence. Hard to see how they can get any back when it's dropped that low. We've run out of ideas entirely. Now it's just hoping it changes.
Silvio Dante
Lansburys percentage in isolation may be even lower than that. Every time he had the ball he smacked it first time, aimlessly and out of play. It was commentated on as “looking for the early through ball”, whereas in reality it was a welt. Still, nice hipster beard.

Good analysis, totally agree with you. The only one who showed a bit of composure and didn’t try to get rid immediately was Palmer who was too composed and consistently lost the ball and Bakinson when he came on who tried to find teammates but they were hiding. Bristol Post published this stat and those of individual players - Jack Hunt came out worst but that doesn’t tell the whole story even though he was terrible because whenever he got it he had no options. Was the masterpiece of these world class coaches to play route one Sunday league football because that’s what it looked like to me.

How many times have people said that Fam isn't a real target man? Yet we still try. A team that struggle with possession, so we go long. 50/50 chance of winning the first ball, that probably goes down for 2nd ball. We have managed to make sides that don't play possession football, look like Man City. That is over the last 2 years, it's not a recent thing. I remember defending Lee Tomlin as he was the only one looking for the ball, we've somehow managed to take that problem to a whole new level. If we don't have the ball, we are defending. We get the ball , punt it, it doesn't stick and so we lose possession, vicious circle.
