Nigel Pearson - Confirmed ‘Manager’ Till End of Season

Recommended Posts

Along with Jokanovic, my two preferred (fantasy) candidates. I'm over the moon. Not been this excited about a managerial appointment since Coppell; not felt this positive about my club since Cotterill's League One double. This just feels right.

I am just starting to get a little worried.

OTIB is overwhelmingly positive about this.

Innit. There are people praising this appointment who I've genuinely never seen say anything positive at all about the club before.

Actually quite unnerving.

What a shame we won't be down the Gate for his first home game, the atmosphere would have been electric.

Its a real pity.Would have been a fantastic buzz going around the ground.

Realised earlier that I can't think of a more similar manager to Cotterill around right now than our Nige. Properly, seriously good appointment.

Paul Cook. But let's not go there, now!!

(And Pearson's a cut above Cotts. Sorry Cotts, still love ya)

Job title is irrelevant. duties are all important.

I think you are wrong on the job title. There are clear distinctions between the two which is fairly obvious. This is a marker for things to come. I.e. far more influence, and rightly so, over transfers than either Lee or Dean had.

I hope all this hype and excitement pays off and he can turn things around.

This team look shot and with no ability to do any transfers and this horrific injury situation that hasn't gone away, we need a miracle to turn this mess around.

Feet firmly on the ground.

Didn’t realise NP was manager of Carlisle for that Jimmy Glass goal!

How's your heading, Bents?

Now someone's gonna tell me he scored it with his foot

Is it fair to say the players are going to be pretty excited too?

Shitting themselves hopefully. But think they will soon realise once they work with him there is no need for that and that he will protect them and have their backs as long as they perform to the best of their abilities every time.  Which should be a given of course but doesn’t seem to have been for some of them recently!

Had to laugh at this post on the Bournemouth Forum

But bit depressing we spent 3 weeks looking and couldn't find anyone, whilst Bristol City find Pearson in just over a week

Bournemouth: 3 weeks and we appointed from within. How depressing

BCFC: Holden my beer...

There is still more than enough quality in this squad to stay up this season. I’m sure Nigel has done his due diligence on the players he has available and has taken the job on confident he can turn things around.
