Southport Red
I was watching McDonald & Dodds on Sunday ( I know, I know) and the story was about the murder of a ‘Bath Eagles’ Rugby player who had been signed from France for £400,000. At one point, the male Detective Constable said “£400,000? Bristol City can’t even buy a corner flag for that”. Which got me thinking, which other TV shows have we been nameche Med in? I remember the Aug Wiederkehr Pet one (Bomber) also. Can anyone think of any more?

Bristol Oil Services
The Sweeney. In one episode, Regan's got the 'ump because his senior, Haskins, has decided to bring in another copper from Bristol with some specialism in summat or other (what the Sweeney ain't got, probably knowledge of tractors or wellies or carrots or something) to help with a case Regan and co are getting nowhere with. He and Carter are in the office shouting/discussing the likely attributes of said West Country plod, when Carter wonders if he will be "City or Rovers" (it's always in that order, if we’re both mentioned in the same breath). Only remember that much, can't remember said WC copper arriving or whether he showed his colours.

There was an episode filmed at AG at a night game v (I think) Plymouth which had a fan having a heart attack and being treated by paramedics in front of the EE. The crowd trouble one was filmed at Somerton Park IIRC.

Bristol Oil Services
In the BBC's wildly popular 1990s adaptation of Big Jane Austen's Pride & Prejudice, I'm sure the cad Whickham nips off to watch Rovers at Trumpton when he should be attending a ball/dance with the giddy Lydia? Austen wrote the book while living in Bath, Otibs will recall.

I also thought that "Bath Eagles" must share the same medical team as Bristol City when it turned out that the player had been signed with an injury which meant that (even if he had not been murdered) he could not play rugby again, having passed the medical! The story also seemed to reference the story of Emiliano Sala, who was signed by Cardiff from Nantes FC (although the rugby club was "Racing Nantes" I think), but tragically died in the English Channel in that plane crash, before he played a game for his club (obviously very different circumstances). Old Rascal
The film Flying Blind, with the rather fragrant Helen McCrory! A football match under the M32 with some of the guys in various city shirts. Not a great plot, but some good views of Bristol.
