On the one hand recent form seems massively important (eg Chelsea 4th best in the world - they're arguably not even 4th best in England). On the other Athletico Madrid are 13th, (behind Real Sociedad!) despite being 6 points clear in La Liga. How on earth are Bayern not number 1? PSG have just comfortably beaten Barcelona but are miles below them. It's an interesting attempt to mathematically quantify any given team's "quality" relative to any other given team.
