Good morning Ostriches! Get your head out the sand it's matchday!

Blackburn have one win in ten, and have fallen off massively since February. Like us they struggle mightily against teams at the top of the table with their highlight wins of beating Barnsley before they started the crazy run they're on, and Middlesborough. In fact they're so bad we beat them at home earlier in the season! This is a team in poor form. Pearson specifically warned against complacency, which is what a manager does when they know the opposition is garbage! "There are no easy games in international football" the England manager will often trot out before we face the likes of Andorra, San Marino and Scotland.

However, perhaps we shouldn't be looking totally at the recent results... but more to their recent performances, they beat Millwall, and against Reading in a loss, Swansea in a draw, and Brentford last time out they were dominant in possession but just lacked that cutting edge the higher quality teams have which is no surprise given their injury problems up front. Blackburn press and work hard so the very easy ride we got in midfield last game shouldn't happen. A physical team who have a lot of the ball is is usually a bad match up for our lovely group of lads and their great dna. Like us they were doing well earlier in the season, then fell away badly recently, with a run that's taken them from 8th in early Feb to 15th now. Bradley Dack suffered another ACL injury in their last match and is ofc out for the season. Weirdly, due to injury and suspension we haven't played vs him since Feb 2019. We were due a reunion with Derrick Williams, but he's in another Galaxy now (LA).

There's also big decision to be made over Adam Armstrong, their 20 goal man.

That's something Pearson says he specifically won't do. But Mowbray has lost a lot of games recently. And if you lose a game vs little ol' Bristol City... as Aitor Karanka and many others have found out, that's often enough for you to lose your job! You have to wonder if the pressure is getting to him, to contemplate risking a player like that!

Come on you red buttons! image.png.fc5ff087c92ef91e2ab1dbe5b98ab39a.png

And whatever you do City, don't blow a 2-0 lead away from home in a midweek game! That would be awful...

COYR!

Blackburn fans more depressed than us under Holden

https://www.brfcs.com/forums/topic/34836-rovers-v-bristol-city-170321/

"The team, the formation, the performance, are meaningless. This has been a desperately disappointing season; the players and the manager are clearly not up to the job.

We've taken 5 points out of 30 (I think); most managers would have been sacked or resigned out of shame by now."

"This has got to be a record level of low interest in a game the day before ?"

"Has this been postponed due to lack of interest?"

They've gone right off the boil since their early season exploits. Chances have dried right up for them. Could be another game where we don't have to be the slickest, greatest team ever to get points.

Dack injured, Travis injured, Delboy has gone to LA, Armstrong back training but very unlikely to play against us, Holtby a possibility but also unlikely. They've got the kind of injury issues we are well used to.
