Going to be very interesting, obviously Sessegnon, Nagy & Diedhiou are all unlikely starters having only got back from international duty yesterday.

Baker, Rowe & presumably Watkins are all available, Kalas is said to be, too.

By far the strongest squad we have had for some while, clearly with 2 games in 4 days there might be some mix & match but we are starting a process where Pearson looks to establish who he wants here next season, so those left out will be instructive over these last 8 games.

No idea really, but here’s my team:

Bentley

Simpson Kalas Baker Rowe

Vyner Walsh

Semenyo Massengo Palmer

Wells

Rationale:

Bentley needs a solid game today after recent mistakes.  Max will be be putting real pressure on him.

Baker to return and get some minutes, Rowe also (Mariappa and Sessegnon on bench)

Vyner instead of Lansbury, who despite improving significantly I don’t think will be here next season.  I’m sure NP will pick Lansbury, and he did the interview too!

Forward three can rotate as required.  But will Wells we now have an option to fully press from the front.

Think the side will be as you suggest but probably with Lansbury for Vyner & maybe Hunt for Simpson dependant on how fit the latter actually is.

Mariappa is the other possible if Kalas isn’t 100%.

Simpson fit enough to start? Think he may get half an hour instead so he can put himself about more to show what he can do. When did the Jamaican guys get back and how much did they play?

we saw wells, Semenyo and bell working as a 3 in training Robins uncut however that could be because they were the three left

Played on the 25th March, been back this week, plenty of footage of KP this week.

Both KP and AM would have returned last week as they played on the Thursday evening in Austria - it was a friendly against USA, and both played effectively a full 90 minutes, although was substituted with just a few minutes remaining.

Their team selection seems limited; https://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/299473/bristol-city-stoke

We appear to have assembled a group of young men so physically fragile they shouldn't leave the house in inclement weather

It’ll be an interesting midfield on Friday if Thompson plays for Ireland tonight? It’ll be Mikel and AN other

Injury crisis at Stoke.
O'Neill: "Collins, Campbell, Allen, Oakley-Boothe are essentially going to struggle to play very much part for rest of season."
Souttar, Fox, Clarke, Clucas, Cousins, Forrester all doubts or out for Friday.

Is it time to ask questions about our fitness and conditioning team if we keep having all of these injuries?

Bents maybe dropped today, had a few mistakes in last couple games

Maybe, but I think that would be incredibly harsh on him.

He's been excellent this season and, imo, he's allowed a couple of clangers.

If Fam or Wells had scored 20 this season, I'd say the same for them...

I thought Pearson said he had to protect him since that game. Seems like he picked up a knock. Someone said on here he was limping at the end, though I didn't notice myself.

Fair enough, didn’t notice anything myself . You’d imagine he’d be a Pearson type player but he really hasn't done nothing of note , mainly due to injury. He could possibly play up top or wide as one of the three . It would be a surprise if he got a new contract though  imo

Team for today?

I have absolutely no idea and will trust NP to pick a winning one. With a goal difference of -11, I would love to see a team go out there all guns blazing and rip Stoke a new one. Then I can tuck into the Easter eggs with no feeling of guilt.....

If Wells is up front we can look forward to:

- continual unnecessary fouls on their defenders, rather than challenging properly for the ball, to completely relieve any pressure we are putting on them.

- continual diving, often embarrassing, instead of challenging properly for the ball, gifting them room to move into and launch counter attacks

- weak, lazy passing that gives the ball away when we are on the attack and gives them room and momentum for counter attacks when they were under pressure

- stroppy five-year old whinging if the ball doesn’t land exactly where he wants it when he wants it and sulking rather than chasing back to prevent a counter attack

- snatched shots that go wide when under no pressure, wasting good work from others

- not getting any shot off at all when put under any kind of pressure by defenders

- very moody, sulky behaviour when being taken off as the least effective player on the pitch.

I guess you are not a NW fan then.

I am still puzzled as to why he can’t reproduce his QPR form here.

Or played in his natural position with good service and banging in about 2, specialist finisher..

Probably a bit of everything but, in my book, chiefly down to being played out of position and a lack of service/support, as the poster above stated.
